Madelyn
The bright sun was shining through the windows of the room that was mine for the time being and I yawned. I sat up and stretched my arms out. I heard small pitter patter of paws and I looked down. I smiled and patted the spot besides me and Belle jumped up. Jenny dropped Belle off here on our way to Paris because there was no one at the apartment to take care of here. Bevin was in LA with her cat and I didn't want to leave Belle home alone.
I pulled a pony tail off my wrist and put my hair into a messy ponytail. I swung my legs out of bed and got out of bed. I could smell my mom cooking breakfast from downstairs and I smiled. I missed waking up to my mom's cooking more than I can describe.
I made my way downstairs slowly and saw her in the kitchen flipping pancakes. She had some strawberries sitting in a bowl. "Morning mom." I said when I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a glass from the cabinet.
"Good morning honey, how did you sleep?" she asked with a smile and she pushed up her glasses. I missed my mom so much.
"It was the best sleep I've had in a long time." I said with a chuckle. "Do you want some help mom?"I asked and she shook her head.
"I'm almost done." I nodded and took my glass of water into the living room; I picked up the remote and switched on the TV. E! was on and the first person I saw was Jenny...
"So Jennifer, we heard some rumors recently that you lost one of your most famous up and coming models, Madelyn Smith, now I that true or just a rumor?" one of the interviewers asked and Jenny smiled.
"Well, Juliana, that is a semi-true rumor. Madelyn had developed some issues as her tome in the spotlight progressed and she couldn't handle the attention." Jenny said and I scoffed.
"What're you watching Maddie?", my mom asked and looked at the TV. "Isn't that Jenny?" I nodded and she sat down next to me and turned up the volume on the TV.
"Issues as in...?" Juliana asked.
"She was snorting almost every minute. She has a very severe problem and we sent her to get help before she continues any more appearances or shoots. We want her to be a good example for people and I felt she couldn't unless she was clean and healthy, so we have sent her to a rehab facility in Iowa."
"This woman is unbelievable!" My mom exclaimed and I laughed. "I can't believe she can get away with saying these things about you!"
"That's the media mom; they can say anything and get away with it." I said and she rolled her eyes.
"Well it's not right." I laughed at her and she smiled.
The rest of the morning we ate breakfast and sat around watching One Tree Hill. I got my mom into the show and it was really funny watching her freak out at the end of every episode.
"So, what're your plans now?" Mom asked me.
"I'm not sure exactly. I have no idea where my life is going now. I thought that modeling is what I would be doing for a while." Mom looked at me with empathy and patted my knee.
"Well now that you have some free time have you thought about talking to Justin and seeing Hannah?" I nodded and she gestured for me to continue.
"I called him last night and some girl answered his phone. She told me she would tell him I called but he hasn't called me back yet so I just am assuming that he doesn't want to call me back."
"I don't think that's the case Madelyn. Before I moved here he would come over all the time and ask how you were doing. There is no way that he would not call you back because even if you aren't dating like before I know he would still want to be your friend. I pulled up Justin's Instagram account and showed my mom the picture of Justin kissing Whitney's cheek. "Do you think he's dating her?" I asked and she shook her head right away.
