I heard a loud banging on the front door of Madelyn's house. I groaned and looked over at the clock above her bed. It was six in the fucking morning... six! I threw the blankets of Maddie's bed off of me and walked down the hallway to the stairs.

I saw a shadow of someone outside but I couldn't exactly see who it was. I switched on the front porch light considering we just switched the clocks and it was still dark outside. I unlocked and opened the front door only to be met with a bloodshot eyed Justin. His skin was pale and his eyes would go cross-eyed every few moment. He reeked of alcohol, it burned my nose. His hair was matted on his forehead from what looked like sweet and what was dry was messy. He was still wearing his dark dress pants and white dress shirt he had worn yesterday at graduation.

"Justin what on earth are you doing here?!" I semi shouted and he hiccupped and small tears started falling out of his eyes. I walked outside; shutting the door behind me I stood in front of Justin and crossed my arms over my chest.

"I need to talk to Madelyn Hannah. I need to see her. She needs to let me explain." Justin said slurring almost every other word. Oh boy. Justin... Shit! Why did Maddie leave me to deal with this! I didn't want to see his reaction when I tell him she left last night! I can't take seeing anyone is that much pain especially a friend. "Please. She needs to let me explain." Justin said.

"Uh Justin, Madelyn's not here...." I said slowly and softly. His eyes widened and his breathing began to increase with every breath he took.

"No, you're lying. She's here. She's upstairs sleeping, all warm in her bed. She wouldn't leave me." Justin started to say now stuttering more rapidly.

His body started dropping until he eventually hit the floor and pulled his knees into his chest. I felt so bad for him right now, even Madelyn. God only knows she feels ten times worse right now. I kneeled down so I was at eye level with him and also pulled my knees into my chest.

"Listen Justin you need to go home and get some sleep. We can talk about this tomorrow when you aren't shit faced...please. I'll walk you home." I pleaded but Justin just shook his head.

"I can't sleep without her Hannah. I need her." I looked up not wanting Justin to see my tear up. I saw all the love these two had for each other and it broke my heart seeing them struggle. Justin even more, he wasn't his cocky self. He was hurt and broken. It was a sight to see in a sad way...

I thought of an idea and stood up. I dusted myself off and held out my hand. Justin looked up at me with sad and wet eyes and hesitantly grabbed it. I helped him off the ground and led him inside Madelyn's house. We walked up the stairs, well walked Justin up, and into Madelyn's room and sat him on her bed. Maybe just being in her bed with her smell will help him sleep at least for tonight until I can figure out something else.

"Here, this is the closet I can get you to her right now Justin. Just go to sleep. Pretend Maddie's here with you." I tried to calm him down and eventually he took the hint and got underneath her blanket. She had left her pillow here so he laid his head down on it. I could tell her was sniffing it silently and his eyes soon started to shut slowly.

I let out a sigh in victory and walked downstairs sat down on the couch. This was going to be a long few days.

"Justin! You need to hold off on the beers! Please!" I shouted over the loud music and he just nodded. We were currently at this new club that had just opened up downtown and some of Justin's friends wanted to check it out so here I sit, practically babysitting Justin, while he parties with some of his new friends he's made over the last four years.
