"So, today's the big day! How do you feel?" Elana asked as she rummaged through my closet.
"I feel..I don't know..scared."
"Scared? Why?"
"What if I say something weird? What if I trip and fall? What if we don't have anything to talk about? What if-"
"Okay, okay! You're nervous! Don't be though, Morgan's a really nice, good guy. He'll entertain you and show you a good time. And I'm sure he's just as, if not more, nervous as you are right now." She said and I breathed.
"Hey, Rose Bud! Whatcha up to?" My dad asked, standing in my doorway.
"Dad!" I groaned. "You know what I'm up to, I told you yesterday that I had a date." I said and he held back invisible tears.
"Oh, right. Well, do you need help with anything?"
"No."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"Okay."
"Okay."
"Well, b-"
"Bye." I got up and closed the door.
"Rude!" Elana laughed.
"I'm tired of my parents barging in." I sighed and flopped onto my bed.
Just as I said that, my door burst open and in popped a head of black curls.
"Hey, Ro Ro. Whatcha up-"
"No! Out! Out! Shoo!" I yelled and tried to push Adrian out of my room.
I didn't succeed.
"Wait, I just wanna help!" He whined.
"I don't need any help from you!"
"I wanna help anyway!" He said and picked me up and walked in my room.
He set me on my bed then huffed with pride.
"So what can I do?" He asked and I rolled my eyes.
"You can go home." I said but he ignored me and looked at Elana.
"Uh, you can do her hair." She said.
Uh, what?
NO!
He'll destroy it!
I'll look like a teletubbie!
"Okay." He grinned a devilish grin.
"Wait, I don't wan-"
"Come on, Ro Ro!" He said and picked me up and carried me to my bathroom.
"Why do you know the layout of my house?" I asked.
He just laughed and set me down on the toilet.
"Curls?" He asked.
"Um-"
"Curls." He said and grabbed my curling iron.
"My hair's already curly!"
"Right. Hmmm.." He put his hand on his chin and looked at me.
I mimicked him and looked at him.
He laughed and ran his fingers through my hair and kept saying, "Hmm."
"Braids and curls!" He yelled and grabbed my brush.
"That's going to look stupid."
"Shh! I'm going to make you look amazing." He whispered and started brushing my hair.
