Chapter 5

Paden's POV (Multiple in this chapter)

I had the guys in the car with me as we headed to Coldstone and I trust these guys with everything. So I decided to tell them what I was thinking.

"Hey guys, what do you think of the girls?" I asked.

Cambell answered with "I like them all pretty much. Ethelyn is my favorite though. I can just see couples forming with you and Tessa, me and Ethelyn, Connor and Caitlyn, Edmund and Hadley, and weirdly enough, Sagan and Nadine."

"Wha- NO." said Sagan. I knew from him saying that that we were all going to tease him and try our hardest to get him and Nadine together.

"I've got to admit, I really like Tessa. When we were on our way to the wave pool she and I were talking. She said she is an all-star cheerleader with elite skills, loves running and being athletic overall, and is a food addict like me. Plus her car is amazing and her eyes are so blue and green at the same time with that beautiful smile and golden brown hair..." I didn't realize the guys all staring at me until I noticed the weird silence happening in the car.

"Sounds like our boy here has a monster crush!" said Edmund. The others quickly agreed.

"I think he should make his move at Coldstone and if he doesn't then we need to do everything possible to get them together." Sagan said.

"You guys really don't have to do that for me. You know why? Because I am going to talk to her at Coldstone and ask her out." I said. I said that, but inside I felt like I was being ripped apart by nervousness and I just wanted to find out her answer.

Tessa's POV (I do her POV a lot because she is a main character)

We arrived at Coldstone and the guys were right behind us. I was really excited to see Paden because I realized in the car how much I really like him. He was so much like me and our personalities matched perfectly. His beautiful hair was the same color as mine, his eyes were the perfect mix of bright blue and storm cloud blue, and his smile made me feel like I was melting on the inside. We found our "match with each guy and Sagan and Nadine started arguing while each of us just started talking to our new crush.

"So what flavor do you think you'll get, Paden?" I asked him.

"Um- what? Sorry, I think I will get cookies and cream." He said. He seemed distracted so I asked him if everything was alright. "Yeah, yeah. I'm fine." He said. I decided just to let it go and not pry because it was his business and not mine because I had only just met him about twenty minutes ago. We got up to order and I got chocolate chip cookie dough on a waffle cone and when I got my wallet out to pay, Paden stopped me and said "It's on me. I'll have cookies and cream on a waffle cone."

"That was sweet of you!" I told him.

"Not as sweet as this ice cream!" He joked. That's another thing. He makes jokes and so far has been laid back. I like that.

"Hey Tessa, I know we just met, but would you like to go out sometime? We could go here again, we could go to the movies, anything really. Yes or no?" he asked abruptly.

"You know Paden, that would be a lot of fun. So that would be a yes to you." I said while smiling at him.

"Okay then. I guess that's settled. What about this Friday since we still have three weeks of summer vacation left?" he asked me.

"I'm good with that. Let's go join our friends before they start worrying." I said after hugging him and saying yes to him.
