The Attack

Rogues. I could hear them before I could see them their piercing howls and disgusting smell flowing through the wind , followed by the sound of my pack members bones breaking throughout the house, we were going to have too fight.

'Rose' I heard my mom shout followed by footsteps pounding down the hallway towards my bedroom door.

'Rose, what are you doing?, we need to hide now' she shouted as she rushed in though my bedroom door and took and hold out my elbow.

she began dragging me down the hallway towards the safe room where the females and children would hide when there was danger or when our pack was fighting, like now.

she entered in the code and the doors slowly opened, she rushed us both in and closes the doors by again typing in the passcode.

when i finally caught my breathe and looked around i noticed everyone was either crying, or sitting silently praying, the children were crying; as even they could sense something was wrong.

we've had rogue attacks before but this was nothing like them, for a few weeks now there have been one or two rogues lurking around the border but never actually stepping in.

However today was different, 40 or 50 rogues ran into our territory and started attacking, so my moms tells me, our men weren't expecting the attack so we were left defenceless for a couple of minutes until we realised what was happening.

My dad being the Beta, of course has to fight along with my brother Jake, and right now they were all i could think about. The sickening sounds of wolves howling dragged me out of my thoughts just in time to hear my mother talking to me.

'It's going to be okay sweetheart, don't worry' she said with a shaky voice.

I know she was trying to stay strong for me , but I could see the fear in her eyes, the fear of the unknown, the fear of what could happen to us.

our pack wasn't the strongest and its certainly wasn't the biggest we had around only 80 wolves in total, including the fighters. Our pack was a peaceful pack we never caused trouble or did anything we wasn't supposed to, so why us? why were rogues attacking us.

I was knocked out of my thoughts again by a sharp unbearable pain that cut across my whole body, it felt like my sides were being drilled and taken out one by one ,when I looked around I noticed everyone was going through the same sort of pain, that's when I realised....

 Someone from the pack had died.
