*WARNING: SWEARING*

'This piece of paper in my hand, with Garrett's number is real.' I thought to myself throughout the day. 'Do I call him? What if he's the type of guy who prefers to text? What if he thinks I'm just using him? Oh my god Taylor, pull it together.' I told myself as I sat down at the table in the cafe. "Isaac, do you mind if I take my break now? I need to call Charlotte." I lied, my heart was racing.

"Yeah sure! Oh and are you performing tonight?"

"You're letting me?!"

"Well I haven't seen you on stage lately, and I heard that we needed more live music. So tonight?"

"Yes, definitely! Thanks Isaac." I smiled, maybe Isaac isn't that bad, to me at least. I took my apron off and stared at the phone. 'Okay, Taylor Jane, be the man,' I said as I dialed the numbers that were written on the piece of paper. The longest four rings of my life, I swear. "Hello?" A voice answered, it was a girl's. A girl, also known as the opposite gender of the male species, picked up Garrett's cell phone. Oh shit. "Uh..hi. Is Garrett there?" I ask, my voice shaking. "He's in the shower, do you want to leave a message?" OH SHIT OH SHIT. "It's okay, I'll...I'll just...call back...later," I whispered.

"He just got out, are you sure? Garrett, the phone!"

"No, it's fine, really it's fi-"

"Hello?"

"Garrett?"

"May I ask who's speaking?"

"No you may not," I say quietly.

"I don't understand?"

"Neither do I, Garrett."

"Taylor?"

"This is she."

"I, I thought you weren't interested?"

"Long story. But hey I'm glad that our 'special connection' didn't effect you and other girls."

"What are you talking about Taylor Jane?"

I just held the phone against my ear. I didn't want to say it. I didn't want to believe it, so I just waited for him to admit it.

"You're talking about Mollee aren't you?" He chuckles. Mollee? As in gorgeous blonde Mollee? Mollee, the girl my sister adores more than me? Mollee?!?!

"Is that her name?" I ask, oh why did I say that. Might as well write bitch all over my face.

"She's just a friend, Taylor. You're the one I like. Can I prove it to you? Tonight?"

"...I'm working at the cafe until midnight."

"Tomorrow?"

"Charlotte comes home tomorrow."

"Tomorrow night?"

"Don't have a baby sitter."

"I'll call Chrissie. I'll pick you up tomorrow night."

"Don't expect me to jump into your arms, you still have some explaining to do. "

"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow." He says as I hang up.

Did I really just accuse Garrett of what I think I did? I'm surprised he still wants to see me after that comment. But, why was she there, while he was taking a shower? Is that how being 'just friends' work? I'm thinking crazy thoughts to myself when Liza comes up to me, "You alright Tay?" She asks, wiping down my table. Since Liza is really all I got, I thought that maybe it wouldn't hurt to tell just one person. "You might want to sit down.." I began.

"..and I don't even know what I'm doing with my life, with him." I sighed. Liza's eyes were huge as she tries to process everything I had just told her. She clears her throat a couple times before she chuckles, " Taylor Jane, you are one hot mess."
