We were all gathered in the parking lot, getting ready to leave. The day turned out to be better than I had planned because it was fun seeing Charlotte run up to me and tell me how great her day was. As I hugged each member of the cast, thanking them, Garrett whispered, "When you get home check your pocket." Confused, I nodded and we went our separate ways. I was a bit saddened because I felt that Garrett and I had a special connection and I'll probably never see him again. He'll probably go off and date a prettier girl than me (probably a super model) and I'll end up with about 79 cats. As we jumped into the car, Charlotte opened the door to the passenger seat and sat down. "Little missy, what are you doing?" I laugh.

"I spent the day with big kids, I am a big kid!"

"Char, it's not safe. If we crash, you could get hurt."

"But sissy, we won't crash!"

"You trust me?"

"Yes, yes I do."

"One time, just this one time Charlotte."

She had the biggest smile on her face as she continued to blast the music from her Teen Beach Movie soundtrack. We started dancing along, and I was actually enjoying it. At the stop light she starts to sing, "I wish I got to spend the day with Tanner!"

"His name's Garrett, silly!"

"You like Garrett! You like Garrett!" She starts to chant, but before I can have a say, a car runs a red light and cars start swerving out of the way, but one car was unfortunate as the, assumed, drunk driver slams straight into it. "Charlotte close your eyes," I demand as I unbuckle my seatbelt, "I'll be backs sweetie, stay here." I open the door and start running toward the victim. Other people were trying to help, waiting for the ambulance. There were still no sirens. "Can you get her out?" I asked one of the men who was running around. "I don't know she seems to be stuck, can you call the police?" Hands shaking, I dialed 9-1-1. "911 what's your emergency?" The operator asked.

"There's this crash and the woman, she's in pain and a drunk driver, he's still in his car. I don't know if anyone is de-dead." I stutter, trying to catch my breath. "Ma'am, is it the crash on Anaheim Avenue?"

"Yes."

"The paramedics are already on their way. In the meantime try and keep the woman calm and make sure there was no one else in the car with her."

I hang up the phone and stand there. Closing my eyes, I imagine driving with Charlotte, blasting our music, and then everything happening in slow motion. Both silent as we see the head lights of another car coming straight at us. It was too late to move out of the way, too late to move Charlotte to the back seat, too late to say goodbye. One last look at my little sister, and she was gone. I realize I'm crying as I open my eyes. Everyone was rushing out of the way as the fire tuck came, behind them the ambulance and the police. I wanted to get out of here, get out of this nightmare that I've already lived once. And like that, I go back into the car and we drive away. "I'm sorry." I whisper, holding on to Charlotte's hand, "I'm sorry you had to see that." Dead silent, she just nods.
