The clocks flashing. And what does is say?
It's 2 AM
Now what I said was true. Your laying in bed, or on the sofa, or even the floor, but you just happen to take a peek at what the clock says.
2 AM
Why am I still up?
Well, why are you still up?
I bet were up for the same reason, I bet you a penny. I bet you I know, or atleast I'll try to predict why your still awake so late.
When the stars are shining bright in the sky, the moons reflecting off of still water on oceans and ponds and lakes. Everything is still, and everything is quiet, all you hear is the beating of your own heart.
Bum, bum, bum, bum.
Do you know what your hearts doing?
It's keeping you alive.
But back to the fact at hand that I bet you a penny I know what your thinking because your one of many who is awake right now.
Now your alone.
It's dark.
It's only you, yourself, and the darkness that consumes your body.
I'm not just talking about the lights that are off leaving you in the dark with the creatures that are lured out at night, but consumed by the darkness of your mind. Your rethinking the mistakes, all your faults, everything you could have done better. Your fighting your inner demons.
At 2 AM
Well you could be anyways.
You could be shining bright like the stars outside fantasizing about that boy in class or the boy that lives a million miles away that you have no chance with.
You could be thinking about that girl with the sparkle in her eyes that makes your heart beat speed up to where you could swear a man on the moon could hear it.
You could be thinking about the fight you had, the fight where you back sassed so good you just have to give yourself a pat on the back. But your thinking about what you could have done better. Maybe you should have just laid it down, laid down the dirt you had on the person, but no you just gave them a warning.
You could be thinking about the test you just completely bombed because you can't stand that teacher.
You could be thinking about impossible possibilities where your in a situation that you wished would happen.
You could be thinking about that argument that happened before you went to bed, the argument leaving you distraught in your thoughts.
There's one in a million things you could be thinking about.
You could be happy, shining like those stars so everyone can see how far you have made it.
But then there's another thing.
You could be hidden. Masked behind the other stars that shine so much brighter than you.
There's approximately 2.567 billion stars that are hidden away in the dark night skies. That you can only see them once in a decade.
Maybe your one of those stars.
Maybe your the star that isn't bright enough and is to scared to come out because your afraid all the other stars will laugh at you.
Your afraid all the other stars will pick out each crease and crack that you have making you not perfect.
Your afraid they'll poke fun of the tiny holes you have in your from all the meteors that cracked you, or make fun of how your so dim because your not good enough to be like the bright stars.
