The life of a high school nobody

Prom fiasco

So prom is a month away and I still don't have date. I'm not worrying about it because I think it's just a waste of money. It's just one night and a crap ton of money done the drain. All of my 6 friends are going. They keep bugging me to go but i would just feel weird being the only one with out a date out of us.

My best friend, Amanda wants me to go with a boy I have liked since 7th grade, Colton McMillen . I honestly would ask him if he wasn't graduated and my brother's best friend. Amanda's boyfriend, Zack is cousins with Colton. She keeps telling me that she could get Zack to talk to him about it but I think my brother would be against that.

You have no idea of how hard it is to like your brother's best friend. I have honestly tried to talk to him but he just ignores me. One time I was talking to my friend Liz and her boyfriend Austin, who is friends with him about Colton and Liz asked him to find out what Colton thinks of me. I was nervous to hear from him and what I heard back from him was no shocker. Austin told me how Colton must not think much of me because he knows me as Steve's sister. One time I even told my brother I used to like Colton to see his reaction and he told me I can never like any of his friends.
Since going with Colton was out of the question I have decided I should ask one of my guy friends. My guy friends aren't the popular ones or the "jocks", they are just the guys I have been friends with since we were little kids. I thought about asking my friend Jake but he is going with his girlfriend.

I am honestly done with prom. I have decided that I'm not going unless someone asks me. This way I won't have to worry about a dress because I will just wear one of my cousin's old dresses. Even though no one will ask me I'm just saying this for a price of mind.
