Cameron's POV

I let out an unmanly screech and wave my now contaminated hand in the air dramatically. "What the hell?" I spit, wiping my hand on my brand new pants. "that's disgusting."

She crosses her arms. "Serves you right."

"I didn't do anything!"

She gives me a cute glare. "You nearly killed me with your hand. I could've died, and it would have been your fault."

I have no idea where her obsession with dying comes from. In the past week at least, she's told me that she's too young to die or something a million times. If I hear it another time, I'm going to be the one dead.

"You're such a dramatic person" I reply making her shrug.

"Can't help it. It's all part of my charm and shit."

I laugh loudly at her attitude before sobering up. "I kind of need to talk to you."

She raises an eyebrow. "Are you referring to what Maya has apparently spoken to you about?"

"Maybe."

"Because if so, I think I know what you're going to say already. No need to have this conversation."

Now it's my turn to raise my eyebrow. "Oh really? And pray do tell what I wanted to speak to you about? I mean, If you know and all...." I trail off.

"Well it's probably regarding the annoyance that is our best friends, and their desperate attempts to get us to admit we don't hate each other and everything, but they just really need to mind their noses," she says smartly like she has all the answers in the world.

"Close" I nod. "But not exactly."

She frowns but reluctantly nods. "Okay, what did you want to talk to me about? And it better not be another one of your ridiculous attempts to prank me."

I internally laugh at the ninth grade memories, and her interpretation of how my so called 'prank' went down..

Flashback: Ninth Grade

"Hey, what are you doing after school?" I whisper in her ear. "Want to go somewhere with me?"

She looks at me from the corner of her eye suspiciously. "Depends what you have in mind."

"Food."

She looks at me to go on. "I also really wanted to try that new Chinese place that opened near my house. It's supposed to be really good. And cheap."

She assess me for a moment for some strange reason before giving me a small nod. "Fine. But only because I'm hungry, and you'll be paying."

"It's a date."

She pretends to ignore me and goes back to doing her homework like the goody two shoes she is.

"Dude, did she agree?" Jason asks once I sit back down in my seat satisfied.

I smirk.
