Justin

Just take the last damn step Justin!

You can do it.

One step off and you'll have it over with.

C'mon.

I sighed and squeezed my eyes shut as I took my last step off, feeling myself being tugged down as the air rushed with me.

I was falling.

And I felt free.

_

"Brody?" I asked and stepped closer to the figure.

"Hey Justin." He smiled showing his perfectly straight teeth.

"You're h-here?" I asked confused and looked at him with curiosity.

"I'm here doofus." He said and stepped out further into view.

He looked so, normal?

But he was dead, Brody was gone. He died.

And for me to see him, does that mean that I'm dead?

"Why did you do it?" He asked gently and brushed his hand in my hair. He used to do that when we were kids and I was upset, it always calms me when someone would mess with my hair.

"Ever since you left, everything's changed." I said quietly, stilk wondering if I'm, well dead.

He laid down on the soft white sheets and I watched him for a second, watched him motion for me to lay down with him.

"No one cares for me Brody." I sighed, close to tears.

"Yes, people do care for you Justin. Jason does, I can see it." I turned my head to look at him and I met his hazel eyes that I miss so much.

His hair was combed up, his clothes were close to the type Jason wore, except their work was completely different.

Brody was, well a drug dealer. He was in the type of gang that hung around our neighborhood and spray painted graffiti on walls.

Jason's gang? Completely different.

And one night after I had been talking to Brody, their was a shootout and Brody was shot.

That's how I lost him.

"He cares for you Justin, don't give up on him yet. People are allowed to mistakes bub." He brought my attention back to our conversation, his eyes showing sincerity.

"But I'm weak Brody. Nobody wants me around when I can't even stand up for myself." I turned on my side getting a better look to see an amused Brody, which confused me even more.

"You're most definitely not weak Justin." I am though, I'm weak.

"It's not your time Justin. You have so much left to do, and you can't leave Jason. He needs you kid." I closed my eyes and sighed.

"Look, do you remember that time when I brought that girl over? Ashton." Brody asked and sat up a little, looking at me closely.

I nodded. I liked her, a lot.

"She got abused at home. I would see bruises on her every time we would make out or hangout, whatever."

I stared at him with raised eyebrows.
