The usual greetings of, "Hey, Car!" "Hello, Caroline," "Wassup, Car," acknowledged Caroline as she entered and passed through the hallways and corridors of Mystic Falls High.
She smiled at everyone as she made her way to her locker, passing Elena and Stefan making out on the way and snickered.
"Hey, Car! Are you alright? Saltzman said you left history midway? You didn't even pick up the phone!" Bonnie gushed, concern clearly displayed upon her face, as Caroline reached her locker.
"It was nothing, just some minor headache," Caroline lied, and took her books out from her locker, which was right besides Bonnie's.
"Oh, okay, I thought it was something really serious. You know, our kind of serious. Even the Davina witch disappeared somewhere yesterday," Bonnie said and Caroline paled as she thought about the events which happened a day back.
Bonnie noticed the colour from Caroline's cheeks fading and suspected, "It was something serious, wasn't it?"
"No," Caroline lied a little too quickly and Bonnie let out a discontented sigh.
"Let's get going or we'll be late," Caroline said and began walking away with Bonnie right beside her.
"Fine, don't tell me. But, I'm the witch here, you are the human. I can make anything right, you get it? One problem, and you come to me," Bonnie assured Caroline.
Caroline gave her a wide smile and muttered an 'I will'.
"Yo, Bonnie! Caroline!" Meredith's voice boomed through the classroom as both of them entered and went to sit near her.
"So, how's it going? Haven't seen you guys in a few days," Meredith said and Caroline raised her eyebrow.
"More like you vanished from this earth, Mer," Bonnie said and Meredith gave a sheepish smile.
"Nothing too important, just visiting my old town. My mother's talks made me nostalgic," Meredith said with a shrug and continued, "How's being in a relationship treating you, Car?"
Caroline flushed, her pale skin showing her blush, while Bonnie wiggled her eyebrows with a mischievous smirk and Meredith chuckled.
"What? You mean how being ordered around feels like?" Caroline asked sardonically.
"Well, he never stopped obsessing over you since that ball. Besides, we know how much you love him. But, he loves you even more," Bonnie said in a matter-of-factly tone.
Caroline inhaled sharply and opened her mouth to counter but she could think of nothing and said instead, "Point well made."
"I still can't believe this is your first relationship. I mean, aren't cheerleaders supposed to have like, a thousand boyfriends?" Meredith said.
Bonnie snorted.
Caroline gasped and acted falsely offended, "You stereotypical people seriously need to get your shit together."
Before Meredith or Bonnie could say reply, the teacher entered the class and began the lecture.

Klaus leaned against the cool metal of his car in the school's parking lot. He was waiting for the last class of the day to get over.
Soon, the bell rang and the students began pooling out of the classrooms onto the school's gate and parking lot.
The ping from his cellphone alerted Klaus and he removed it to read the message on the screen.
Be there in five, it read.
Klaus sighed and put his phone in his pocket.
As promised, a dark brown haired girl made her way through the crowd to him five minutes later.
"You actually came," the girl remarked.
"I needed to. I can't let you people go near Caroline again. Now tell me what you exactly want, 'cause I know having the French quarters back isn't your only goal," Klaus said sternly.
The girl came closer to him and placing her hand on his bicep, caressed his cheek. Klaus flinched from her touch.
"What are you doing?" Klaus said in a controlled voice.
She smirked and then placed her lips right near his ear and almost whispered, "Oh, Klaus Mikaelson, how right you are."
He bent his neck to reply back in her ear the same was she did, but, what he saw next almost made him throw this girl out of his way.
Caroline was standing not so far, with Elena and Bonnie besides her.
Her expression clearly displayed hurt.
And Klaus knew why. The position in which he was with the girl, evidently decepted that he was kissing her.
Caroline always thought what people showed in TV operas and read in books about heartbreaks was overrated. She never thought that the 'pain of a heartbreak' as they so mildly put it, hurt this much. It felt so much worse than every nerve being stabbed in her body. The sight unnerved her so much that she didn't realize she had started crying until Bonnie and Elena pulled her away from the scene, whispering words of reassurance and consoling her shattered heart.
Caroline was constantly used to adoption of different situations in her life. Yet, this time, she was sure a big change as such couldn't make anything better for her from now.
