"Ah, I see. Boy problems," Kol remarked, seeing Caroline's frozen and lamented expression.Caroline glared softly at him.
"Do you want to go somewhere else?" Kol asked her, seeing her disturbed state.
Caroline swallowed and said, "No."
She thought, she would better get used to seeing him with Meredith - or anyone else - if she had decided that she was not going to give a flying fudge about him.
While walking with Kol to get the drinks and occupying the only seat vacant, which happened to be right besides Meredith's, Caroline gathered all the confidence left inside her.
Then she made a mistake of looking at Klaus 'accidentally'.
It was definitely a mistake because he was staring at the pair of her and Kol. With dangerous glint in his already fierce eyes.
She did feel guilty at the moment after remembering what she and Davina had done, but, she had planned on taking Bonnie's help and mending her mistake.
She quickly looked away and concentrated on Kol talking about when he once visited New Orleans.
She zoned away anyway, lost in her own world, gazing at Kol but still distant.
"Hey, Caroline?" Meredith's attempt to make small talk with her brought her back to the present.
Caroline couldn't understand how after everything she had done, Meredith had the audacity to look her in the eye, let alone talk to her.
Maybe it was the alcohol taking its effect, but Caroline glanced at Meredith with a flat look and rolled her eyes, turning her attention back to a shocked and amused Kol.
"Caroline?" She heard Klaus' voice.
And there it was. Her breaking point.
"What?" Caroline snapped, diverting her attention from Kol completely.
Klaus looked at her with a blunt expression, but his eyes spelled vulnerability.
"What are you doing here? With him?" Klaus asked her.
Caroline almost laughed but covered her mouth, containing the giggles threatening to break out.
"What's so funny? Answer me," Klaus said, almost lowly.
"That's so ironic! You don't attempt to contact me after what you did, and why would you? I was just a plaything wasn't I? Then, You turn up with her and prove that I'm right, and now you asked me what I'm doing here?" Caroline said, with a mixture of disbelief and amusement.
Klaus stood there wide-eyed.
"Well, your answer, I'm partying. I'm getting drunk trying to forget what you, both of you," Caroline looked at Meredith with a look of disgust and continued, "did, and enjoying my time with my friends. So, I suggest you both get back to whatever you were doing. Do not acknowledge me."
Meredith stared at her with an eyebrow raised.
That being said, she turned back to a open-mouthed Kol, hoping to find a random topic.
"Get away from her," Klaus' treating voice commanded Kol.
Caroline looked at Klaus with confusion.
What did it matter to him about the kind of people she spent her time with, now that he had shown how much he cared for her?
"What? You jelly?" Kol mocked Klaus and he looked like he could kill him with just a bite. Or a snap at the neck. Klaus was unpredictable.
"What the hell, Klaus? Aren't you satisfied? You've already hurt me enough," Caroline said, but Klaus glanced at her with regret, then glared straight at Kol.
"Don't go near her again, brother," Klaus warned Kol and Caroline's jaw dropped.
"Wha...How...When...I'm going," Caroline decided she had had enough.
With that, she got up and turned to leave before hearing Kol barely say something to Klaus.
As she exited the kitchen, Caroline heard Klaus slam Kol against something hard. Shaking her head, she made her way through the crowd which was gathering to watch the scene in the kitchen.
