Chapter 4

As they walked to the lake in Ponyville, Spike said "Step lively. The sooner we get to the lake in Ponyville, the sooner we can leave." Twilight Sparkle looked at Dusk Shine, and whispered out "So, where are we really going?" "An animal graveyard." Dusk Shine whispered back. "Wow!" Twilight Sparkle said too loudly. "Shhh! Spike." Dusk Shine whispered out. "Right." Twilight Sparkle whispered out. "So how are we gonna ditch the dragon?" As the ponies were whispering the plan to each other, Spike went up to them, and said "Oh, just look at you two. Little seeds of romance blossoming in Ponyville. Your parents will be thrilled. What with your being betrothed and all." "Be-what?" Dusk Shine asked. "Betrothed. Intended Affianced." Spike said. "Meaning?" Twilight Sparkle asked. "One day, you two are going to be married." Spike said. "Yuck!" Dusk Shine said in disgust. "Ewww!" Twilight Sparkle said feeling disgusted. "I can't marry her!" Dusk Shine said "She's my friend!" "Yeah. It'd be so weird." Twilight Sparkle said. Spike scoffed, and said "Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but you two turtle-doves have no choice. It's a tradition, going back generations."

Dusk Shine smiled, and said "Well, when I'm prince of Equestria, that'll be the first thing to go." "Not so long as I'm around." Spike said. "Well in that case, you're fired." Dusk Shine said. "Hmmm, nice try." Spike said. "But only the prince of Equestria can do that." "Well, he's the future prince of Equestria." Twilight Sparkle said. "Yeah. So you have to do what I tell you." Dusk Shine said. Spike glared at him, and said "Not yet I don't! And with an attitude like that, I'm afraid you're shaping up to be a pretty pathetic prince of Equestria indeed!" Dusk Shine scoffed, and said "Not the way I see it! I just can't wait to be the mighty ruler of Equestria!" "You just don't get it, do you?" Spike said as he began his lecture. As he began talking, Dusk Shine and Twilight Sparkle quietly snuck away from him. When Spike finished talking, he realized that Dusk Shine and Twilight Sparkle are gone. "Dusk Shine?" Spike asked. "Twilight Sparkle?" When Dusk Shine and Twilight Sparkle were far away from Spike, Dusk Shine said "All right! It worked!" "We lost him!" Twilight Sparkle said. "I am a genius." Dusk Shine said smugly. Twilight Sparkle glared at him, and said "Hey genius, it was my idea." "Yeah, but I pulled it off." Dusk Shine said. "With me!" Twilight Sparkle said. "Oh yeah?" Dusk Shine asked. He tried to tackle Twilight Sparkle, but she managed to pin him down.

"Ha! Pinned ya!" Twilight Sparkle said in triumph. Feeling annoyed, Dusk Shine said "Hey. let me up!" Twilight Sparkle got off of him, and he caught her off guard as they tumbled down a hill. Twilight Sparkle pinned Dusk Shine down, and said "Pinned ya, again." Suddenly, they gasped when a geyser near them made a loud noise. They were in awe as they looked around. They walked up a hill as Dusk Shine said "This is it. We made it." They looked at the view above the tusk of an elephant, and said "Whoa." "It's really creepy." Twilight Sparkle said. "Yeah." Dusk Shine said. "Isn't it great?" "We could get in big trouble." Twilight Sparkle said smiling. "I know." Dusk Shine said as he chuckled a little. "I wonder if it's brains are still in there." Twilight Sparkle said as they walked near the entrance to the elephant skull. "There's only one way to know." Dusk Shine said. "Come on, let's go check it out!" Suddenly, Spike blocked the two ponies, and said "Wrong! The only checking out you will do will be to check out of here!" "Aw, nuts!" Dusk Shine said. "We're way beyond the boundary of Ponyville!" Spike said feeling scared. Dusk Shine chuckled, and said "Look, the scaly dragon is scared." Spike glared at him, and said "That's MISTER scaly dragon to you, stallion. And right now, we are all in very real danger."

Dusk Shine smirked, and said "Danger? Hah! I walk on the wild side. I laugh in the face of danger. Ha ha ha ha!" Suddenly his laughter was cut short when laughter came from inside the elephant skull. He gasped in fright, and hid behind Twilight Sparkle and Spike. Three siren ponies emerged from the elephant skull with evil smirks on their faces. The first siren pony had pale apple green scales and had a luminous vivid orange mane with brilliant yellow streaks on them that is held up with a purple headband with orange spikes on them, brilliant raspberry eyes, a red gem necklace, pink transparent wings, and a orange gem for her cutie mark was named Adagio Dazzle. The second siren pony had arctic bluish white scales and had a moderate cerulean mane with moderate persian blue streaks, moderate raspberry eyes, a red gem necklace, light pink transparent wings, and a moderate pink heart with a light blue musical note for her cutie mark was named Sonata Dusk. The third and final siren pony had pale, light grayish fuchsia scales and had a moderate purple mane with light brilliant aquamarine streaks, moderate raspberry eyes, a red gem necklace, light green transparent wings, and a purple star for her cutie mark was named Aria Blaze. "Well, well, well, Aria. What have we got here?" Adagio Dazzle asked. Aria Blaze pondered, and said "I don't know, Adagio. Uh, what do you think, Sonata?" "Well, are you thinking what I'm thinking, Aria?" Sonata Dusk asked through her giggles. "Yeah, just what I was thinking." Aria Blaze said as they approached Dusk Shine, Twilight Sparkle, and Spike. "A trio of trespassers!"

"And quite by accident, let me assure you." Spike said nervously. "A simple navigational error." Before Dusk Shine, Twilight Sparkle, and Spike could leave, Adagio Dazzle stepped on his tail, and said "Whoa, whoa, wait wait wait! I know you. You're Prince Solaris's little stooge." "I, madam, am the prince's majordomo." As the siren ponies circle around their prey, Aria Blaze looked at Dusk Shine, and said "And that would make you-." "The future prince!" Dusk Shine said finishing Aria Blaze's sentence. "Do you know what we do to princes who step out of their kingdom?" Adagio Dazzle asked. Dusk Shine scoffed, and said "You can't do anything to me." "Uh, technically, they can. We are on their land." Spike said. "But Spike, you told me they're nothing but slobbering mangy stupid poachers." Dusk Shine said. "Ix-nay on the oopid-stay." Spike whispered out. "Who are you calling oopid-stay?!" Aria Blaze said as she got in Spike's face. As Dusk Shine, Twilight Sparkle, and Spike started to leave, Spike said "My, my, my! Look at the sun! It's time to go!" Adagio Dazzle blocked them, and said "What's the hurry? We'd looove you to stick around for dinner." "Yeaaaah!" Aria Blaze said. "We could have whatever's horsing around!" As she laughed, Adagio Dazzle said "Oh wait, wait, wait. I got one, I got one. Make mine a colt sandwich. Whatcha think?" As they laughed, Sonata Dusk started laughing as she said "Girls! We have a problem!" "What, Sonata? What is it?" Adagio Dazzle asked.

Aria Blaze looked at where Sonata Dusk was pointing, and said "Hey, Adagio, did we order this dinner to go?" "No. Why?" Adagio Dazzle asked. "CAUSE THERE IT GOES!" Aria Blaze yelled out as they looked to see Dusk Shine, Twilight Sparkle, and Spike running away. Adagio Dazzle quickly caught Spike who yelped in fright. When the little ponies stopped running, Twilight Sparkle said "Did we lose them?" "I think so." Dusk Shine said. "Where's Spike?" Near a geyser, Aria Blaze held onto a screaming Spike, and said "The little majordomo dragon hippity-hopped all the way to the dragon-boiler! She stuffed the dragon into the geyser, plugging it up. "Oh no! Not the dragon boiler!" Spike said as he screamed when the geyser shot off in a puff of steam. The siren ponies laughed hysterically until Dusk Shine said "Hey! Why don't you pick on somepony your own size?" "Like you?" Adagio Dazzle asked. Dusk Shine realized what he just did, and said "Oops." He and Twilight Sparkle screamed as the siren ponies started chasing them. They darted around the little ponies, and poked their heads through an active methane vent, and said "BOO!" They laughed, and the chased them up and over an elephant skull, and Dusk Shine and Twilight Sparkle slipped away by sliding down a spine. They shot off the end, and landed on a hillside of bones as the siren ponies chased them.

"Dusk Shine!" Twilight Sparkle cried out. Dusk Shine turned around, and gasped in horror when he saw his friend screaming as she was slipping back down the pile. He ran back bravely, and before Adagio Dazzle could capture Twilight Sparkle, he punched her in her face, and the ponies ran off. Adagio Dazzle became enraged as she, Sonata Dusk, and Aria Blaze persued their prey. Dusk Shine and Twilight Sparkle tried to climb up a cliff, but they fell down, and they were trapped. "Here, little pony." Aria Blaze said in a taunting voice. Dusk Shine tried to use magic to stop them, but it was only a spark. The siren ponies laughed as Adagio Dazzle said "Ha! That was it? Hah! Do it again. Come on." So, Dusk Shine tried again, but magic then appeared out of nowhere. "Huh?" The siren ponies said in confusion. Suddenly, Prince Solaris appeared, and the siren ponies tried to fight him, but he was too strong for them, and he managed to pin them down. The siren ponies cringed in fear as Adagio Dazzle said "Oh, please, please. Uncle! Uncle!" "Ow! Ow! Ow!" Aria Blaze said in pain. "SILENCE!" Prince Solaris roared out in rage. "Oh we're gonna shut up right now." Aria Blaze said shaking in fear. "Calm down." Adagio Dazzle said as she chuckled nervously. "We're really sorry." "HAVE MERCY!" Sonata Dusk cried out in fear.

"If you ever come near my son again, you will be SORRY!" Prince Solaris said in a threatening tone. Adagio Dazzle gasped, and said "Oh this is...this is YOUR son?!" "Oh, your son?" Aria Blaze asked. Adagio Dazzle looked at Aria Blaze and said "Did you know that?" "No...me?" Aria Blaze asked. "I-I-I didn't know it. No. Did you?" "No! Of course not!" Adagio Dazzle said. "No." Aria Blaze said. Adagio Dazzle and Aria Blaze looked at Sonata Dusk, and said "Sonata?" Sonata Dusk nodded, and said "Yes, I knew!" Prince Solaris growled very loudly as the siren ponies screamed in terror. Aria Blaze chuckled nervously, and said "Toodles!" The siren ponies screamed as they ran away in fear. Spike went up to Prince Solaris, and nodded at him, only to cringe when the prince gave him an angry glare. Dusk Shine approached his father, and said "Dad, I-" Prince Solaris glared down at his son, and said "You deliberately disobeyed me." "Dad, I'm-I'm sorry." Dusk Shine said sadly. "Let's go home!" Prince Solaris said in a stern tone as he began to walk away with Spike following him. As they followed Prince Solaris and Spike, Twilight Sparkle looked at Dusk Shine, and said "I thought you were very brave." Little did they know that they were being watched by Prince Artemis who was not looking very happy about what had just happened.
