Chapter 12

In another part of the jungle of the oasis, Rainbow Blitz and Bubble Berry was sleeping under a shady tree. Twilight Sparkle approached them as she poked Rainbow Blitz, and whispered "Hey. Hey, wake up!" Rainbow Blitz woke up to see Twilight Sparkle staring at him, and he screamed in terror as Bubble Berry woke up, and started screaming too. Twilight Sparkle got them to calm down as she said "It's ok! Whoa, whoa! It's ok! It's me!" As they took a breather to calm down, Rainbow Blitz said "Don't ever do that again! Unicorns, oy!" "Have you guys seen Dusk Shine?" Twilight Sparkle asked. "I thought he was with you." Rainbow Blitz said. "He was, but now I can't find him." Twilight Sparkle said. "Where is he?" Suddenly, Zecora appeared, and said "Ho, ho, ho, ho. You won't find him here. Ha ha. The prince has returned." "I can't believe it." Twilight Sparkle muttered. "He's gone back!" "Gone back? What do you mean?" Rainbow Blitz asked as he looked at Zecora, only to find out that she already vanished into thin air. "Hey! What's going on here?! Who's the zebra?!" "Dusk Shine's gone to challenge Prince Artemis!" Twilight Sparkle said. "Who?" Rainbow Blitz asked. "The alicorn!" Twilight Sparkle said. "Who's got an alicorn?" Bubble Berry asked. "No, no, no!" Twilight Sparkle said shaking her head. "It's his uncle." "The zebra's his uncle?" Rainbow Blitz asked.

"No!" Twilight Sparkle said. "Dusk Shine's gone back to challenge his uncle to take his place as prince of Equestria." "Ohhh." Rainbow Blitz and Bubble Berry said at the same time. In the desert, Dusk Shine ran as fast as his hooves could carry him as he continue his journey to his home. Moments later, he arrived in Ponyville, but he did not like what he was seeing. The buildings were boarded up, the farms had been abandoned, and the streets were empty. He then went into Canterlot, and gasped at the sight of the ruined streets. He looked ahead to see the castle, and he became determined. He then heard a voice that said "Dusk Shine, wait up!" He turned to see Twilight Sparkle running up to him, and she said "It's awful, isn't it?" "I didn't want to believe you." Dusk Shine said. "What made you come back?" Twilight Sparkle asked. "I finally got some sense knocked into me." Dusk Shine said. "And I've got the bump to prove it. Besides, this is my kingdom. If I don't fight for it, who will?" "I will." Twilight Sparkle said. "It's gonna be dangerous." Dusk Shine said. "Danger? Ha! I laugh in the face of danger. Ha, ha, ha, ha!" Twilight Sparkle said quoting Dusk Shine when he was a colt."

"I see nothing funny about this." Rainbow Blitz said as he and Bubble Berry went up to them. "Rainbow Blitz? Bubble Berry? What are you doing here?" "At your service, my liege." Bubble Berry said as he bowed down. Rainbow Blitz looked at the castle as he said "Uh...we're going to fight your uncle for this?" "Yes, Rainbow Blitz." Dusk Shine said. "This is my home." "Talk about your fixer-upper." Rainbow Blitz muttered. He looked at Dusk Shine, and said "Well, Dusk Shine, if it's important to you, we're with you to the end." Dusk Shine smiled, and they made their way to the castle. Once they arrived, they hid in a bush nearby entrance. They looked at the siren ponies guarding the door as Rainbow Blitz said "Siren ponies. I hate siren ponies." He looked at Dusk Shine as he whispered out "So, what's your plan for getting past those guys?" "Live bait." Dusk Shine whispered out. "Good idea." Rainbow Blitz whispered out. He then realized who he was talking about as he said "Hey!" "Come on, Rainbow Blitz." Dusk Shine said. "You guys have to create a deversion." "What do you want me to do?!" Rainbow Blitz asked. "Dress in drag, and do the hula?!" Later on, Rainbow Blitz was dressed in drag while Bubble Berry was pretending to be a pig on a big plate. The music started playing, and they caught the siren ponies attention. As they made their way towards them, Dusk Shine and Twilight Sparkle snuck past them, and entered the door. As the music ended, Rainbow Blitz and Bubble Berry screamed, and ran for their lives while the siren ponies chased after them.
