Chapter 10

At the small hut, Zecora was doing her chores when she saw the milkweed floss in the wind. She caught some of them, examined them, and went inside her hut. She placed the milkweed floss in her cauldron, and stired it. She looked down on it, and gasped as she said "Dusk Shine?" She looked at the smeared image of Dusk Shine, and smiled as she said " He's-He's alive? He-He-He's alive!" She the picked up some paint, and painted a pair of wings and a cutie mark on the smeared image of Dusk Shine. She stepped back, and said "It is time." In the jungle of the oasis, Rainbow Blitz and Bubble Berry were taking a walk together, and singing a tune when Bubble Berry got distracted by a bug, and decided to follow it. Rainbow Blitz finally stopped singing when he realized that Bubble Berry was no longer with him as he said "Bubble Berry? Bubble Berry?" In a grassy field, Bubble Berry continued to follow the bug that flew up to a log. He tried to sneak up on it, but it turned around, making him hide behind a tree. The bug then turned away, and hopped over the log. Bubble Berry then jumped on the log, but then got spooked when he heard a noise. He looked behind him, and said "Rainbow Blitz?"

There was nothing there so Bubble Berry shrugged, and climbed over the log. Just when he was about to finally catch the bug, he looked up to see something ahead of him, and it flew away. Twilight Sparkle who is a full grown mare left Canterlot to not only find help, but to catch the criminals that had been stealing jewels and bits was getting ready to pounce on Bubble Berry who screamed in terror. "Stop right there!" Twilight Sparkle said as she popped out of her hiding place, and chased after Bubble Berry. Rainbow Blitz then heard the chase going on as he said "Bubble Berry?" He ran towards the noise as he said "Bubble Berry! Bubble Berry!" He kept calling his friend's name until he caught up with him when he got stuck in a tree root. "Hey, what's going on?!" "SHE'S GONNA KILL ME!!" "Huh?" Rainbow Blitz asked as he looked ahead to see Twilight Sparkle coming towards them. "Whoa!" As he tried to help his friend get free of the root, he said "Geez! Why do I always have to save your-!" He screamed when Twilight Sparkle attempted to pounce on them, but Dusk Shine stopped her as he said "Leave my friends alone!" They began fighting with each other as Rainbow Blitz comforted Bubble Berry, and said "Don't worry, buddy. I'm here for you. Everything's gonna be okay."

Bubble Berry tried to get a good view of the fight between the two unicorns despite being stuck in the tree's root. "Go get her, brony! Hit her in the head! Go for the jugular! The jugular!" He looked at Bubble Berry, and said "See, I told you he'd come in handy." Dusk Shine then tackled Twilight Sparkle who managed to overpower him, and pin him to the ground. He gasped in shock, and looked up at her as he said "Twilight?" Twilight Sparkle's face changed from angry to surprised as she backed away in shock. Dusk Shine got up from the ground as he said "Is it really you?" "Who are you?" Twilight Sparkle asked. "It's me! Dusk Shine!" Dusk Shine said. Twilight Sparkle looked at Dusk Shine more closely as she said "Dusk Shine?" Dusk Shine nodded, and Twilight Sparkle immediately smiled as she said "Whoa!" The two unicorns yelled with glee, and they started hugging each other as Rainbow Blitz stared in shock. "Well, how did you...where did you come from?!" Twilight Sparkle asked as she stuttered. "How did you...who...wow...this is cool...it's great to see you!" Dusk Shine said as he stuttered. "It's great to see you!" Twilight Sparkle said. "Hey!" Rainbow Blitz said. "What's going on here?!" "What are you doing here?!" Dusk Shine asked. "What do you mean what am I doing here?" Twilight Sparkle asked. "What are YOU doing here?"

Rainbow Blitz finally got their attention as he said "HEY! WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?!?!" "Rainbow Blitz, this is Twilight Sparkle." Dusk Shine said. "She's my best friend!" "Friend?!" Rainbow Blitz asked. "Yeah!" Dusk Shine said. "Hey, Bubble Berry! Come over here!" Bubble Berry then got himself unstuck as he said "Huh?" "Twilight, this is Bubble Berry." Dusk Shine said. "Bubble Berry, Twilight Sparkle." "Pleased to make your aquaintance." Bubble Berry said. "The pleasure's all mine." Twilight Sparkle said. "How do you do?" Rainbow Blitz asked. He then stopped himself as he said "Whoa! Whoa! Time out! Let me get this straight. You know her, she knows you, but she wants to kill him. And everypony's okay with this? DID I MISS SOMETHING?!" "Relax, Blitz." Dusk Shine said. "Wait til everypony finds out you've been here all this time." Twilight Sparkle said. "And your mother! What will she think?" "She doesn't have to know." Dusk Shine said. "Nopony needs to know." "Well, of course they do!" Twilight Sparkle said. "Everypony thinks your dead!" "They do?" Dusk Shine asked. Twilight Sparkle nodded, and said "Yeah. Prince Artemis told us about the stampede." "He did?" Dusk Shine asked. "Well, what else did he tell you?" "What else matters?" Twilight Sparkle asked. "You're alive! And that means...you're the prince!"

"Prince?" Rainbow Blitz asked as he scoffed. "Mare, have you got your lines crossed." "Prince?!" Bubble Berry said looking at Dusk Shine. "Your majesty! I gravel at your hooves." He bent don't to kiss the hooves, but Dusk Shine jumped out of the way as he said "Stop it!" "It's not gravel, it's grovel!" Rainbow Blitz said. "And don't! He's not the prince! Are you?" "No!" Dusk Shine said. "Dusk Shine?" Twilight Sparkle asked. "No, I'm not the prince!" Dusk Shine said. "Maybe I was gonna be, but that was a long time ago!" "Let me get this straight." Rainbow Blitz said. "You're the prince? And you never told us?!" "Look, I'm still the same stallion." Dusk Shine said. "But with power!" Rainbow Blitz said. "Could you guys excuse us for a few minutes?" Twilight Sparkle asked. "Hey, whatever she has to say, she can say in front of us." Rainbow Blitz said. "Right, Dusk Shine?" "Hmm. Maybe you'd better go." Rainbow Blitz stared in shock, and said "It starts. You think you know a stallion." Bubble Berry sighed as he and Rainbow Blitz walked off. "Rainbow Blitz and Bubble Berry." Dusk Shine said. "You learn to love them." Twilight Sparkle then bowed her head down sadly as Dusk Shine said "What? What is it?" "It's like you're back from the dead." Twilight Sparkle said. "You don't know how much this will mean to everypony. What it means to me." "Hey, it's okay." Dusk Shine said with a smile. "I've really missed you." Twilight Sparkle said as she snuggled against Dusk Shine who blushed. He then snuggled against her as he said "I've missed you too."
