Chapter 5

Later that night, Prince Solaris, Spike, Dusk Shine, and Twilight Sparkle was walking through the medow near the castle in Canterlot. "Spike." Prince Solaris said still feeling very stern. Spike went in front of the prince, and said "Yes, sire?" "Take Twilight home." Prince Solaris said. "I've got to teach my son a lesson." Dusk Shine crouched in the grass as if to hide. Spike walked over to Twilight Sparkle, and said "Come, Twilight." He looked at Dusk Shine, and said "Dusk Shine, good luck." He then walked off with Twilight Sparkle following him. "Dusk Shine!" Prince Solaris said calling to his son. Dusk Shine slowly walked over, and he suddenly stepped into a hoofprint that belonged to Prince Solaris. Dusk Shine looked at the hoofprint, and then looked at his father. He then walked over to him, and sat down next to him. Prince Solaris sighed, looked at Dusk Shine, and said "Dusk Shine, I'm very disappointed in you." "I know." Dusk Shine said sadly. "You could have been killed." Prince Solaris said. "You deliberately disobeyed me. And what's worse, you put Twilight Sparkle in danger!" "I was just trying to be brave like you." Dusk Shine said his voice cracking from sadness. "I'm only brave when I have to be." Prince Solaris said. "Dusk Shine, being brave doesn't mean you go looking for trouble."

"But, you're not scared of anything." Dusk Shine said. "I was today." Prince Solaris said. "You were?" Dusk Shine asked in disbelief. Prince Solaris nodded as he lowered himself down close to his son, and said "Yes. I thought I might lose you." "Oh." Dusk Shine said feeling a little better. "I guess even princes get scared, huh?" Prince Solaris nodded, and Dusk Shine said "But you know what?" "What?" Prince Solaris asked. "I think those siren ponies were even scareder." Dusk Shine said. Prince Solaris chuckled, and said "Cause nopony messes with your dad. Come here, you!" He grabbed his son, and gave him noogie. "Oh no, no!" Dusk Shine said as he got loose and tackled his father. They chased and tussled with each other playfully. As they took a breather, Dusk Shine said "Dad?" "Hmmm?" Prince Solaris asked. "We're pals, right?" Dusk Shine asked. Prince Solaris chuckled, and said "Right." "And we'll always be together, right?" Dusk Shine asked. "Dusk Shine, let me tell you something that my father told me." Prince Solaris said. He pointed at the stars, and said "Look at the stars. The great princes of the past look down on us from those stars." "Really?" Dusk Shine asked looking at the night sky. "Yes." Prince Solaris said. "So, whenever you feel alone, just remember that those princes will always be there to guide you. And so will I."

-Meanwhile at the animal graveyard-

In the hideout inside the elephant skull, Aria Blaze looked at her bruised flank, and growled as she said "Geez, that lousy Solaris! I won't be able to sit for a week!" "That was hilarious." Sonata Dusk said through her giggles. "It's not funny, Sonata." Aria Blaze said getting angry." Sonata Dusk laughed even harder, and said "Yes, it really is!" "Hey, SHUT UP!" Aira Blaze said. "NO!" Sonata Dusk said while still laughing. Aria Blaze snarled in rage, and tackled Sonata as they started fighting with each other. Adagio Dazzle then got very annoyed by Sonata Dusk and Aria Blaze fighting with each other. So she turned to face them, and said "Will you knock it off?!" The two siren ponies stopped fighting with each other, and Aria Blaze said "Well, she started it!" "Did not!" Sonata Dusk said in protest. "Did too!" Aria Blaze said. "Did not!" Sonata Dusk said. "Did too!" Aria Blaze said. "ENOUGH!" Adagio Dazzle said walking over to Sonata Dusk and Aria Blaze. "Look at you, girls! No wonder we're dangling at the bottom of the food chain." "I hate dangling." Aria Blaze said as drool started to come out from the corner of her mouth. Adagio Dazzle wiped the drool off of Aira Blaze's face, and said "Yeah? You know, if it weren't for those ponies, we'd be running the joint."

"I hate ponies!" Aria Blaze said. "So pushy." Adagio Dazzle said. "And fuzzy!" Aria Blaze said. "Stinky." Adagio Dazzle said. "And geez, are they...uuuugly!" Aria Blaze and Adagio Dazzle said at the same time. The siren ponies laughed, but they froze in fear when they heard a voice that said "Oh, surely we ponies are not all THAT bad." They looked up to see Prince Artemis sitting on his perch, and sighed in relief. "Oh, Prince Artemis, it's just you." Aria Blaze said. "We were afraid it was somepony important." Adagio Dazzle said. "Yeah, you know, like Solaris." Aria Blaze said. "Yeah." Adagio Dazzle said. "I see." Prince Artemis said. "Now THAT'S power." Aria Blaze said. "Tell me about it, Aria." Adagio Dazzle said. "I just hear that name, and I shudder." "Solaris." Aria Blaze said making Adagio Dazzle shudder. She smirked, and said "Do it again." "Solaris!" Aria Blaze said making Adagio Dazzle shudder again. "Solaris! Solaris! Solaris!" Adagio Dazzle shuddered so much that Sonata Dusk laughed herself silly. "Oooh! It tingles!" Adagio Dazzle said. Prince Artemis hoofpalmed himself, and said "I'm surrounded by idiots." "Not you, Prince Artemis." Aria Blaze said. "I mean, you're one of us. I mean, you're our pal." "Charmed." Prince Artemis said sarcastically. "Ohh, I like that!" Adagio Dazzle said. "He's not prince, but he's still so proper." "Yeah." Aria Blaze said. "Hey, hey. Did you bring us anything to eat, Artemis. old buddy, old pal? Huh? Did you, did you, did you?"

"I don't think you really deserve this." Prince Artemis said holding a octopus arm with his magic, making the siren ponies feeling excited. "I practically gift-wrapped those foals for you, and you couldn't even dispose of them." He dropped the octopus arm, and the siren ponies began eating it. Adagio Dazzle looked up at Prince Artemis, and said "Well, you know, it wasn't exactly like they were alone, Prince Artemis." "Yeah." Aria Blaze said. "What were we supposed to do? Kill Prince Solaris?" Prince Artemis smirked, and said "Precisely." "Huh?" The siren ponies asked as they looked at the night prince questioningly. Prince Artemis then flown down to them, and started to circle around them as he said "I never thought of you siren ponies as essential. You're all crude and unspeakably plain." "Hey!" Sonata Dusk said feeling offended as Adagio Dazzle and Aria Blaze glared at him, also feeling offended. "But, maybe you have a glimmer of potential, if allied to my vision and brain." Prince Artemis said. "If so, then I suggest that you be prepared for the knew era of Equestria." "And where do we feature?" Adagio Dazzle asked. "Just listen to teacher. Prince Artemis said. Aria Blaze then smiled, and said "Yeah, be prepared. We'll be prepared. For what?" "For the death of the prince." Prince Artemis said. "Why? Is he sick?" Aria Blaze asked. "No, you fool." Prince Artemis said. "We're going to kill him. And Dusk Shine too." "Great idea!" Adagio Dazzle said. "Who needs a prince?" The sirens ponies danced around as they said "No prince! No prince!" Prince Artemis then got angry, and said "Idiots! There will be a prince!" "Hey, but you said-!" Aria Blaze tried to say, but Prince Artemis interrupted her, and said "I will be the new prince of Equestria! Stick with me, and you will never go hungry again! "Yaay! All right! Long live the prince!" Adagio Dazzle, Sonata Dusk, and Aria Blaze said at the same time as the other siren ponies appeared, and began to chant "Long live the prince! Long live the prince!" Prince Artemis then let out an evil cackle, knowing that his plans to rule Equestria will be fully prepared soon.
