"M-mm-Maya-"
"Riley, Riley are you pregnant or not?" Maya asked from the other side of the door
"M-mm-"
"Riley! Answer me! Are you?" Maya asked again
"Yes!"
A tear trickled down my cheek, how am I supposed to respond? I walked out of the bathroom to find Maya looking at me confused.
"Aren't you happy?" Maya asked
"I- I don't know."
"Well, however you feel I'm here for you." Maya said
"I know, thank you Maya."
"You might want to tell Lucas when he gets back, or even better, you could tell him now." Maya said
"No! I-uh-what will he say?"
"That's the beauty of telling him." Maya said
"But-"
"No, no buts! You have to tell him Riley! If you don't he might figure out by himself." Maya exclaimed
"I'll tell him! But not now, we should have a code name for the baby."
"Hmmmm, what about burrito." Maya said
"Burrito?"
"What? I'm hungry-" Maya muttered
"Let's see- what about pine cone."
"Riley, not everything has to be food related." Maya said with her smart accent
"Maya, pine cones aren't food."
"They aren't? Wait, what is a pine cone again?" Maya asked
"Ugh, Maya pine cones are-"
"Ohhhhh! Wait! I remember now! They are those brown crunchy things we see on our hikes!" Maya yelled
"Yeah, the-brown crunchy-things, if that's how you want to say it."
"Is that the code name you want to use?" Maya asked
"Yeah."
"Ok then, code name checked off the list." Maya said
"The list?"
"Yeah, you'll need a lot to get ready for the baby." Maya explained
"A lot?"
"Oh boy, come on. Let's go." Maya said with a tired look
