Days passed and he got accustomed to the University life. Then came a day in their Theology class:

"In the Beginning, God created Heavens and Earth..."

He smirked at how his Theology professor explains the first few verses of Genesis. He cannot digest the idea of our physical world popping-up from thin air like magic. His hunger for reasons and proofs to prove something as true, honed him to become the skeptical and logical being as he is now.

"..The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And the Lord God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die."

"This is a joke!" He shouted to his thoughts.

He talked to himself and rationalized on his desk, "You would create a man, put him in a garden, put him near that so called Tree of Life, and then hope that the man would not eat from that tree just because you told him so? Then the man did what was expected, he defied what he was ordered not to do. Then he was cursed for his entire life, just because he tried to eat from the tree that was put very near him and he had no knowledge of , in the first place? Would it not be more logical if you have just put it somewhere else, or if you have just had your mighty cherubim guarded it in the first place, as not to have all mankind to end up being cursed and up to now being forced to live in the idea that beyond the strife of abiding with such heavenly laws is the promise of an eternal paradise? Do these make sense? Damn!"

"Yes, Mr. Dela Cruz? You are murmuring something? Do you want to share it with the class?"

He was caught red handed by his Theology Professor's voice, asking him to stand up and explain what he was murmuring about. He stood with full agitation. His voice started weak but went on with strong convictions of what he believes as logical:

"I apologize, sir. I was lamenting on the idea that we were just a product of an imaginary concept that would not even hold water in laboratory experiments. I understand that in our Physics class, everything abides by physical laws of nature and the universe. As how you hear my voice because it follows the law of matter where in sound travels through medium such as the air we breathe. But now, by reading these verses, we are forced to believe that "something" had defied these universal laws, for he was regarded as the Law of all laws, the beginning and end, without any empirical bases, he wielded his hands and said with mighty voice 'Let there be light, and there was!'. Don't you think that without being given any logical proofs, this would sound more like a fairy tale than a sensible explanation of how life on Earth began?"
