I woke up to the sound of Effie banging on the door calling me for breakfast. I pulled on a nice shirt and trousers and made my way to the dining carrage. Katniss wasn't there yet but she trudged in soon after, there were bags around here eyes. "did you get much sleep? " I ask knowing what the answer will be because I woke last night and heard her screaming, I wish I had helped her but I was too tired.

She grunted indicating that I was right. Hamitch came staggering in a few minutes after Katniss and the stench of alcohol and vomit. I kept on thinking to myself we are never going to win the Hunger Games if he is so drunk. "Hamitch I have a deal that you might be interested in." I found myself saying. "that if you don't get drunk and help us win the games we will do exactly what you say. " Hamitch looks up at me and replied "OK, but after the games I will go back to my old self. " I looked at Katniss and she nodded in agreement. "Seems like we have a deal." I say.

That evening we went to bed early for the busy day ahead. I was sleep for around 2 hours when I woke at the sound of Katniss screaming again. This time I ran into her room and found her huddled on the bed with tears streaming down her face. "it's OK." i said comfortingly."its over. " Katniss sat up and hugged me so hard I couldn't breathe. "will you stay with me Peeta? " she asked. I looked into her big brown eyes and my heart melted, I always fancied Katniss since the day I saw her. I nodded and she calmed down and slid back under her duvet. Soon she fell into a deep sleep, I could have left and went back to my room but she looked so beautiful when she was asleep.

The next morning I put on the best clothes I could find in my now huge collection. Effie was soon banging on my door calling me for breakfast. For some reason I didn't eat much of the food that was placed in front of me. We were still at the table when the train started to slow.

I am now in the capitol.
