I looked behind me and I saw Catie being chased by some mutts. "this must be the final showdown." I said, nodding in the direction of Cato. Katniss loaded her bow but Cato was too quick for her. He was soon on the top of the cornucopia with us. "come on then let's show the capitol some real action. You two being killed by me, I'll be famous and rich, I am the best!" he shouted over the growling and snarling of the mutts.
I lunged towards him and punched him in the face. He grabbed me and threw me onto the cornucopia. Inside me my head was spinning and I felt dizzy. I scrambled back up and Katnoss let and arrow fly. Cato swiftly dodged it and grabbed hold of me, under my neck. "come on then, kill me. All I wanted to do was win, it's what I was born for. I want to win for my family, so I can keep them alive." he said. He tightened his grip around my neck, Katniss let her arrow fly and it hit Cato in his hand. He screamed in pain, as I gasped for air I pushed him. He fell over the side of the cornucopia and into the pack of mutts. His screams were painful, Katniss shot him the heart, giving him a quick painless death. The mutts dragged him away into the unforgiving forest. We climbed down the cornucopia hand in hand.
My leg oozed with blood and infection had spread quickly. There was silence, as if we were marking the death of our fellow tributes
"we've won."
