Despite the tension in the air and the way everyone seemed upset, Lily felt that this experience had been much better than when she'd attempted with Matt. The news and information she'd found out had been much worse than with Matt but she felt like she'd been in more control and she'd allowed Isaac's emotions in less; she remembered who she was instead of believing she was living things out herself. They'd discussed what she'd seen afterwards, looking up the bank they were being kept in and trying to find a way in. Derek had wanted to go in all guns blazing but they'd managed to convince him not to until the next day. Now she was sat on the lab table as Deaton examined her, her mind racing.

Erica was dead and Lily had seen her body. She'd felt it as Isaac tried to shake the girl awake – the way that her skin felt cold and her eyes looked empty. Lily had never liked her but it was tragic to see the fire that had once lit up Erica's eyes burn out. She was still young, still had so much more left for her. They had to stop the Alpha pack. They had to do something.

"How are you feeling?" Deaton asked, shining a light in her eye. She did her best not to flinch as he moved it to the next eye. It felt like a doctor's appointment. "Any dizziness? Headaches?" For this part he'd allowed her some privacy, clearing all the boys out of the room.

"No, I'm alright," she replied. That wasn't a lie – she was tired and shaky but alright.

"Everything seems to be as normal," Deaton assured her, "But if anything is wrong, you need to tell someone. You need to stop ignoring your abilities."

Lily bit her lip, glancing down at her feet that she was kicking back and forth. "Do... do you know what I am?" she frowned, her voice practically a whisper.

Deaton went over to the cupboard, pulling something out and turning to her, "Do you want to know what you are?"

No – yes – no, Lily thought, not sure what she really wanted. She did want to know but she was also scared that once she opened this box, she could never close it. He must have noticed the reluctance of her expression because he handed her the object he'd just pulled out of the cupboard. It was thick and rectangular, wrapped in a soft but worn red cloth. Curiously but cautiously, Lily moved the cloth, finding that underneath it was a brown moleskin journal, the pages yellowed with age.

"A contact I have recently bought this to my attention," Deaton explained, "She seems to believe you have some relation to Moirai. This book might tell you more about them."

Resisting the urge to audibly gasp, Lily thought of the counselling session she'd had with Ms Morrell and the fact she'd mentioned them. Pursing her lips, she wrapped the book back up, her fingers gripping at it. "Thank you," she said, "For helping us today."

Deaton smiled at her, shaking his head and busying himself with the stuff around the lab. "It's what I do, Lily."

Hands still clutching the book, she hopped from the table, thanking him one last time before leaving the lab. The moment she stepped out of the office, all four guys stood up, eyes on her immediately. Lily stood there awkwardly, pulling the book closer to her chest and eyeing them all. No one spoke and they all seemed to take in her appearance, probably all feeling way too responsible for her wellbeing. It's like I have four guard dogs, Lily grimaced, but then took in all their worried looks and sighed, I guess it's nice.

"Let's go then," she rolled her eyes, leading the way out. They were going to split up – Derek and Isaac would go see Peter for any more information – she, Scott and Stiles would try and find out how the bank had been broken into in the past. Luckily, her brother and Scott did their best to keep the mood light on the drive to her house and she did her best to join in. Her heart was never fully into the conversation as she played around with the book. Finding out what was in it could wait.
