"How is it?" Lily questioned Isaac as she shovelled a spoon of ice cream into her mouth, she didn't swallow as she continued, mouth full, "Living with Scott?" She was sat on the bed of the guest room, looking around and taking in the few things he owned. It had been a few days since the rainstorm and Lily was finding that Derek really meant what he said when he said he wanted space. He hadn't been to see her, called her or texted her and she found that she was really missing him. Shaking her head, she put another spoon of ice cream in her mouth. It was taking more of her willpower than she would have liked to admit not to reach out to him.

Isaac eyed the ice cream warily, nodding, "It's good. Scott's mom is really nice."

"Yeah, Melissa is lovely," Lily agreed. Poking the ice cream slightly, she pouted, "I'm sorry I couldn't get Derek to stop being crazy. I mean, I love him but he can be so hard-headed sometimes." She swallowed the lump of ice cream in her mouth, flinching as the cold substance ran down her throat. The sensation of the ice cream was pretty good at distracting her from her feelings. When she received no reply from Isaac, she looked up, raising an eyebrow at him. "You okay?"

"Are you okay?" Isaac redirected the question to her.

Her mouth was full again as she frowned, "Yeah, why?"

Glancing at the ice cream, he coughed slightly, "Well besides the fact that you've almost finished that tub of ice cream, the guy you love basically asked you to go away-"

"-okay, firstly, he may of asked me to go away but he did say it was temporary," Lily glared at him, "Secondly, I finish tubs of ice cream on a daily basis – this is not special. And lastly... love? Love? Love?" She started laughing awkwardly, stuffing more ice cream in her mouth as she did so and ignoring the terrible brain freeze it bought along.

Isaac only looked at her as though he wasn't sure whether she was sane or not, "Lily, you literally just said you loved him."

Opening her mouth, Lily prepared an argument, pausing as she realised he was right. Her face fell, adopting an expression as though she'd been caught in a trap. "Oh shit," Lily gulped, scraping down the last of the ice cream. Not only was her ice cream finished, but she'd just realised that she was in love with Derek Hale. It was pretty anticlimactic for her – in movies they had the big realisation while doing something cool or romantic but she was sat sulking and had accidentally realised.

It made sense to her; it explained why she missed him so badly and why him asking for space had hurt her so much but that didn't make realising it any easier. If he could push her away as easily as he did, then that meant that he probably didn't hold feelings as deep as she did. What if he'd sensed her feelings for him and that's why he needed space? But that wouldn't explain why he'd kicked Isaac out.

"Oh," Isaac exclaimed, catching her attention, "It sounds like Scott's leaving now." He grabbed his leather jacket, throwing it on and heading out of the room.

"Leaving to go where?" Lily frowned, annoyed he'd just raced off. She left the spoon and empty ice cream tub on the dressing table, rushing after him and catching part of the conversation. They were talking about getting Mexican food. "Oh yes please," she gasped, coming to stand in the doorway and ignoring the surprised look on Scott's face, "I love Mexican food." When she noticed the reluctant and frustrated looks on their faces, she rolled her eyes, "If you don't want me to come then just say so."

Isaac cleared his throat awkwardly while Scott straightened, "We're uh... not talking about Mexican food, Lily."

Narrowing her eyes at them, she frowned, "I'm pretty sure I just heard you – oh, does Mexican food stand for something else?" Her face turned solemn, reminding them of when a little kid figured out what an innuendo meant. Obviously from their reactions, they were talking about some secret thing that wasn't Mexican food – which was highly disappointing because she had gotten excited about the prospect of the food. Unlike most people who couldn't eat when they were upset or hurt, Lily was opposite; she needed to fill herself completely with sustenance in order to avoid the negative feelings.
