A Not So New World Book 1

chapter 1: kira

Cada pov

"Good morning everyone today we have a new student joining our class please welcome her kindly. You may come in kira jones" the teacher says. Her surname is the same as my dad's. It must be a coincidence.

A young girl with long blond hair flowing loosely down to her waist and dark blue eyes walks in and stands at the front of the classroom. She is tall and slender. She is wearing the normal school uniform which consists of a green blazer with the school logo on the left side. A knee length pleated green chequered skirt and a pair of smart black shoes. Instead of wearing the usual knee length white socks she is wearing black tights. Accessories include a black tie and a blue clip in bow in her hair.

"Hi my name is kira. It is nice to meet all of you." She says in a sweet innocent tone. I can already tell that she is only acting innocent. It doesn't mean that she actually is innocent.

"Why don't you go and sit next to ........ cada" the teacher says pointing at me.

Just great. I hate sitting next to people. I can't think with others around me especially people like her.

She walks towards the seat next to me and sits down next to me. As she sits down I feel pain running up my leg as I try to hold in a gasp. I look down to see that she has kicked me.

"I'm going to enjoy making school a living hell for you" she whispers in my ear just before kicking me again.

End of lesson

I walk out of the classroom and look for my two best friends, Brook and Asuka. I finally find them and notice that they are with a familiar blonde. Why her?

I walk up to them and as soon as they see me their expressions change and not in a good way. The smiling faces that I was so used to seeing were gone instead they were frowning and staring at me with looks of disgust.

"H-hi guys! W-what's w-wrong?" I stutter.

"What's wrong? I'll tell you what's wrong. Why did you say such mean things about us behind our backs?" Brook shouted at me while pushing me into the lockers behind me.

"What do you mean? I would never do that!" I ask trying to hold back tears.

"But you did! We trusted you cada! You were our best friend but then you betrayed us" Asuka shouted at me "don't ever speak to us again!"

I couldn't hold the tears back any longer. I ran off into the nearest toilets and locked myself in while crying my eyes out. Why did this happen to me it's not like I ever did anything to her. She's only just joined this school.

I'm going to have one horrible school year. I hear the bell signaling next lesson but I ignore it. Instead I sit up and start reading some manga on my phone hopefully this will cheer me up a bit.

At home

"Mum, I'm home!" I shout but there is no reply. Strange mum is usually home by now. She must have gone shopping somewhere.

I put my bag down and take off my school shoes before running upstairs to my bedroom. I jump on my bed and get my phone out so I can start to watch the latest episode of fairy tail.

This is fun. I wonder how long it will be until she finds out and sadness takes over. Will she be able to cope?
