chapter 8: my first job!

I wake up to the sound of my alarm clock. I look to see what time it is before shooting out of my bed and rushing to get ready. I'm late and ginoza is going to kill me.

I quickly get ready before running out of the door and to the office.

As soon as I get there I am greeted by an annoyed Ginoza.

"Your late" Ginoza states in a harsh manner. I can sense the deadly aura around him and he is probably about to kill me. I have a feeling that he is having a bad day.

I look around the room and notice kagari is the only enforcer that hasn't arrived yet. I decide to ignore it and instead I averted my attention towards my desk. I sat down and started off the report for the recent incidents.

Soon after starting the work I heard quick footsteps coming down the hall.
As they got closer, the footsteps became louder until they finally stopped outside the office door. A few seconds passed before the doors flew open and Kagari ran into the office.

"Sorry, I'm late" he shouts before collapsing to the floor, trying to catch his breath.

"For being so late you can complete this extra paperwork while I go to a meeting" ginoza says before getting up. He grabs a stack of paper from his desk and walks over to where kagari is sitting. He drops the paper in front of him before walking out the office.

Once he is out of sight I get up and walk over to kagari and help him pick up the paper which is scattered all over the floor.

Once we finish picking up the paper I put the pile on his desk. "Thanks" he says. I reply with a nod before walking towards my desk and taking a seat. I don't get much time to relax as just a few seconds later the bell signaling a high stress area rings causing everyone to stop what their doing.

Ginoza soon ran in to explain the job. Basically, a group of people have broken into a bank and they are now holding people captive while they break into the vault containing all of the money and valuables. Our job is to eliminate them and save as many captives as possible.

A pretty normal job for the MWPSB.

Hopefully we can save some of the captives even if it's not that many.

Ginoza rushes to the van and we all follow and climb in the back.

I sit in the middle of Yayoi and Kagari while Masaoka and kogumi sit across from us.

It takes us around five minutes to arrive at the scene. We grab our denominators before making our way towards the building, carefully not to alert the criminals that we are already here.

We wait for ginoza signal before entering the building. We split up into three groups, Kayoi and Masaoka, Kogumi and Kagari then me and Ginoza.

I follow Ginoza as we walk towards the main desk. The glass which separates the worker from the customer has been smashed making it easy for Ginoza to jump over the desk. I soon follow him, struggling slightly as I climb over the desk, nearly falling flat on my face. I follow him to a door leading to back room and we soon hear muffled voices and someone screaming.

Ginoza opens the door slightly as to not alert them that we're here. He looks through the small gap as I struggle to see what is going on. I can sort of make out the figures of three men in black and two people tied up in chairs. One is unconcious while the other looks terrified.

I feel sorry for them. They don't know what is going on. They have just gotten caught up in the middle of this even though they didn't do anything wrong. Also, even if we succeed in capturing the criminals, there is no guarantee that they will come out alive.

I suddenly feel as though we're being watched and I look behind me to see a dark shadow running around the corner. Being the curious person I am, I decide to follow it. I see that Ginoza is distracted by the criminals and see this as a chance to sneak away.

I take a look around the corner and see nothing so I decide to walk further along the corridor. After I am about ten steps along the corridor I sense a presence behind me and stop.

Just as I'm about to turn around someone grabs me from behind. Before I have a chance to scream the press a cloth against my mouth and i soon lose conciousness.

Thanks for reading!!! Sorry for not updating very often. I've been busy alot recently so I haven't had much time to update. I'll most likely be updating once every two weeks from now on. I might update more during the summer holidays if I have more time. I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
