When Monday morning rolls around Marcus knocks on my door.
"You're going to school today," he says, "get up." I groan but does as he says. I roll out of bed and have a quick shower, I blow-dry my hair and leave it down. I never wear make-up so that saves me a lot of time so I begin getting dressed.
I put on another pair of super skinny black jeans; a black Hollister polo t-shirt; a goodboyscaps snap-back that Sam Pepper gave me; and some red vans. I blasted myself with some body-spray, put my iPod in my pocket and put my headphones round my neck. Before I leave my room I grab my khaki jacket and slip it on. I look down at my shoes and change them for black vans, the khaki and red clashed.
I walk into the kitchen to wear Marcus is say in the kitchen.
"I have to go into the school today about what happened on Monday," he tells me, "so eat something and we'll leave."
"I'm not hungry," I reply.
"When's the last time you ate?" Marcus asks, narrowing his eyes. I just shrug.
"Fine," he sighs, "but we're going out to eat tonight."
"Any of your friends coming?" I mutter.
"No, this is a family dinner." He says and I freeze.
"Are mum and dad going to be there?" I ask but he says nothing.
"Marcus." I say sternly.
"Yes, but-" he begins.
"But nothing, I'm not going," I say with authority, "now let's go to this stupid meeting."
We have to walk because he hasn't got a car yet and we both hate the bus.
"Apart from punching those two boys on Monday, what else did you do?" Marcus asks, attempting to start a conversation. I sigh and decide to converse for once.
"I walked out of two of the three classes I actually went to, I punched a kid for taking the piss out of my music taste and I had a shouting match with a teacher." I explain, smirking.
"I meant what lessons," he sighs.
"I know." I smile sarcastically.
"Just listen to your music," he instructs and I do so. Never Shout Never is my guilty pleasure, although I hate Christofer Drew, he was a little bitch to Bryan Stars. The song Trampoline begins just as we enter the school grounds. We're an hour early because of this stupid meeting so there's no other students here.
We walk through the hallways until we stop outside the headteachers office. I knock constantly until he opens the door and he frowns at me so I scowl back.
"Come in," he says, "take a seat."
"Hello Mr Capeton,' Marcus says and I roll my eyes at his politeness.
"Hello, you must be her brother Marcus?" He replies.
"That's me," Marcus nods.
"Excuse me if it's personal but where are her parents?" Mr Capeton asks.
"It's personal." I snap.
"She lives with me," Marcus says calmly.
"Okay, well I'm sure you know what happened on Monday." The headteacher begins.
I know of Rose's actions but not the whole story." Marcus replies.
"Would you like to tell him or shall I?" Mr Capeton asks me but I just continue glaring at him.
"Stop it Rose," Marcus whispers and I roll my eyes again.
"I'll explain it then," Capeton sighs, "student Frank Iero sat down at her table in the canteen at lunch and began a conversation. According to Mr Iero, she was reluctant to talk to him but he continued anyway. Mr Iero admits to going a bit too far and knows he asked personal questions." With this Marcus looks sideways at me and I shrug. Capeton continues.
"Next, it seemed that Rose got angry and pulled Mr Iero out of his seat and punched him to the ground. She continued to punch him until his nose bled and he now has mild bruising on his face and chest," as says this he looks at me pointedly and I smile sarcastically, "Mr Iero's friends, fellow students Ray Toro and Bob Bryar pulled Rose off of Mr Iero which led her to attack Mr Toro."
I really am getting sick of his Mr this and Mr that.
"Then Mr Toro's friends, Bob Bryar, Michael Way and Gerard Way pulled her away from him and Mr Way took her out of the canteen. She proceeded to threaten Mr Way, leave school grounds and not return all week." Mr Capeton finishes his explanation, "what do you have to say for yourself Rose?"
"Not much." I shrug.
"As you're new and it was partly Mr Iero's fault, you're pardoned,". Capeton says, "but know this, I do not tolerate violence in this school. If I hear of anymore incidents about you, I won't hesitate to give you detention. Now wait outside while I talk to your brother."
I eagerly leave the office and laugh. I got off with nothing. And as if I won't be violent, I won't hesitate to hit anyone if they provoke me.
After a while, Marcus exits the office.
"What did he say?" I ask him.
"He advised anger management, which I said no to, we know how that turned out last time," he says and I nod, "then he got me to sign something for his daughter who likes my videos." At that I scoff.
"Anyway," I say, "what time is it?"
"Five to."
"That seriously took an hour?" I ask incredulously.
"Apparently so," Marcus shrugs, "now go to wherever you go now."
"Yeah whatever," I say, wafting my hand.
"And you are coming out tonight," he say before walking away swiftly.
"No I'm not!" I shout after him, earning a few stares and them gasps as they realise I'm back. I ignore them and walk towards the field where I can scrounge on some free weed that'll be going around before going to class.
