We have been looking at anatomical landmarks of the skeleton & focused on species of dogs, cats & small mammals.

Before examining the skeleton, it is useful to be aware of the terminology used to describe bones.

TROCHANTER

The central part of a bone

TUBERCLE

The outer covering of bones

TUBEROSITY

A narrow, hollow cavity
