Heal quickly- by first intension healing
Serval factors influence healing:
Reduce the amount of dead space
Aseptic(sterile) technique will reduce pathogens
Suture technique
After care of wound
First intention healing not required or unable to occur if there are large areas of skin loss.
Wounds caused by trauma/ infection
Classed as "dirty wound"
May have been present for a long time.
Penetrating foreign body
Abscess-localised collection of pus
Chronic wounds/ulcerated area
Less dramatic in presentation but have a much longer healing period
Most common ulcers are bed sores in recumbent animals
May also be caused by poor blood supply to the area.

Clean cut caused by sharp object. (eg. Glass, scalpel blade)
Bleeding may be profuse, especially if wound is large or deep
Lacerated
Wound causing tearing of tissue and uneven edges (eg. Barbed wire)
