The sunset had just began to creep in when Iris awoke to an empty bed. She sat up and spun her head around the room, looking for Immortal even though she had a good hunch he wasn't home. The room was silent as she pulled her legs up to her chest and laid her arms on her elbows. She starred at the wall and thought about why she was here, in a cold bed, and not in front of the fireplace in Seamus' house. Would it be better there, or worse? Why would she feel comfortable with him if she doesn't love him? She's safe with Immortal, and nothing could change that.

Iris looked at the window and her stare stuck there for a while. She stepped down from the tall bed, slipped on her night gown, and delicately stepped her way over to look out at the calm mountains. They didn't feel calm when she stared at them, and this castle wasn't the safety she used to know. She let her eyes linger on the landscape until she finally fully woke up and noticed the smoke in the distant sky.

She had no doubt in her mind that the smoke had to do with her boyfriend, but it wasn't a question of if he was there. What she wanted to know was, is it Immortal's fault that the sky is grey? Iris absentmindedly ran her hand down the side of the window and picked up her cell phone off of the seal. She delicately pressed the numbers and held it to her ear, listening to the rings. Upon a greeting of The Creatures base from one of the phone operators, she faked a southern accent so they couldn't recognize her.

"Hello, you've reached The Creatures emergency hotline. What is your emergency?" The operator answered.

"I'm perfectly fine ma'am, but I'd like to report what I think is a fire. It's over to the northeast, towards the big city."

"Alright, thank you miss. What is your name?" She asked.

"That isn't important. Just consider it an act of kindness." Iris replied, then hung up the phone before there was any protest from the operator. She finally unglued her eyes from the horizon and opened up the dark armoire.

Her hand rested on the shelf as she mindlessly looked at the piles of clothes. She went to grab one pair of jeans -the tightest ones that would always turn Immortal on- then she paused and grabbed a different pair. They were dark, acid-washed bellbottoms that she had owned for years. Iris stopped and thought again about Seamus, this time remembering how he used to call her sexy every time she wore those jeans. He actually sounded like he meant it when he would say it, and it would always roll off his tongue just right while he would hug her from behind and kiss her behind her ear. She started to day dream about the smell of his cologne, and the way she'd giggle when he would suck on the crook of her neck. Then she broke herself from her thoughts to come crashing back to reality.

Iris looked down at the jeans in her hands and sighed before changing into them. She pulled on an off-white corset and fastened the latches and straps. After adding a dagger to her pocket, she pulled on some knee high boots. The sky was getting darker, and the sun was practically down. On her way out, she swiped her black cloak from where it was in the closet and began to head for the distant city.

Meanwhile, the chatters around the center of Creatures HQ forced Ze away from his room to see what the noise was. He was disappointed to see Kootra and Danz debating, while feed from a street camera played behind them on a monitor. They talked so fast, he couldn't pick up one word.

"Guys?" Ze asked timidly. "Guys, what's up? Guys? Excuse me?"

They still kept on talking, completely oblivious to Ze's presence. All the sudden, his eardrums were murdered by the sound of Sly yelling right behind him. Even if Ze couldn't hear now, the two finally shut their mouths and stared at him and the fox.

"Thanks Sly." He huffed. "What are you two bitching about?"

Kootra sighed. "There's a fire, and we're trying to debate what to do. Immortal's already there and we don't know if we should send someone."
