Kevin walked up to the bar, knowing that’s where his closest friend was. Nowadays, Kevin kept to himself. He never really got the chance to discover himself, but he did refer to himself as Kevin instead of Tom, which was a start.
With hands in his pockets, he walked in, old western music playing inside like a saloon. He knew that something was up with The Creatures and their girlfriends; he never figured out what, but he knew it had something to do with Immortal.
Looking around, he saw a few guys drinking up with no care in the world. He’d never been interested in alcohol himself, though a different part of him was a bit. Now he was trying to destroy that part of himself.
His eyes landed on a wavy dark-haired boy and walked over, pulling up a chair and sitting on it with the backing in front of him. He rested his arms on it as a pale, skinny face looked up towards him. Aleks definitely did look like a wreck. He had a glass of a dark liquid that looked like whiskey in his hand and was blinking at Kevin, confused as to why he was here.
“Hey, it’s been a while since we actually talked. How’ve you been? I’ve… heard a lot has happened since we fought Ashley.” Kevin heard a small groan come from his friend, and shifted in his seat.
“Well, I fucked Iris a bunch of times, she screwed me over and ran back to her ex, Seamus is in prison, and… Oh, I’m on Tiffany’s side now. Nothing much has changed though.” He grinned and looked at his glass of alcohol then took in the rest of it, slamming down his cup on the counter.
Kevin took everything that Immortal had said in, then felt a shiver go down his spine. Aleks… On Tiffany’s side? Not possible. That just… Wasn’t the person that Kevin knew.
“What about you? Your little friend leave your side yet?” Kevin sent an angry glare towards Immortal which barely phased him at all.
“Okay, listen here. You’re not supposed to even fucking mention that, and since when are you on Tiffany’s side?!? I thought you’d choose your friends over some scum like her.” He got his glass back with more alcohol and took a big gulp of it, looking at Kevin with slightly dilated eyes. He was partially drunk, but not fully drunk.
“It’s just… I can’t believe Iris would do something like that. Leave me alone. All I did was love her, and if she didn’t love me back, then I made her.” A gleam in his eyes shone which made Kevin think about the small, fragile girl that had led their team those few months ago.
“What do you mean you made-” Kevin twitched his head to the side with no control and cursed at himself, wishing he could stop it. However, when he looked at the open entrance to the bar, a familiar light orange-haired girl came storming towards them at full speed, eyes like a tiger ready to attack. Guess his friend had actually helped him for once. He watched as she lurched to the side and slashed out her storm at a homeless man, his body torn apart by the terrors of Tiffany’s power.
She killed everything in her path and ruined it all; Kevin had to do something fast to save himself. He knew she’d let Immortal live since he was on her side (plus he’s immortal), though Kevin, not so much.
“Okay, your ex is here and she might fucking cut my body in half or some shit, so what the fuck do I do???” Aleks just sat and stared at the ground with no response. The sound of the storm came closer around them.
Kevin thought hard about anything he could do to save himself. It was shown that Immortal barely cared about any of his closest friends at the moment, so he had no chance saying he was just ‘rekindling’ with him. He needed to be closer in a way with Aleks to show that he could be trusted.
Got it, he thought to himself.
“Okay, Aleks, don’t panic, just go with it, but- Ah, god damn it, this is gonna ruin my rep with you.”
