The rain washed down the sides of uninhabitable buildings as Iris walked through a wrecked city. Even the rats had abandoned ship years ago, but Seamus' love for her was a good example that he could find the diamond in any pile of trash. The buildings were all moldy, burnt, unstable, you name it. Only one was nice when you took a better look, but it had been purposely trashed on the outside to blend in. Iris wiped her water line and stifled on last sniff before she approached the building.
Inside, it was quiet and not a sound except a busted radio could be heard. The cat jumped on the counter and meowed for food while she pawed the air around Seamus. He snickered under his breath as he roughly pet the top of Meowgi's fluffy head. "We're outta cat food. You'll have to go catch your dinner tonight." He said with a low key tone. The cat snit and hopped off the counter, leaving more silence on another uneventful night.
Seamus leaned back on the edge of the counter in his small kitchen and stared at one of the cupboards. He kept pictures wedged on the pattern of the cabinets, and one showed Iris' beautiful face; her soft, sweet face. Seamus wasn't there when Ze saw everything that happened in the burning building, but he could still imagine the hurt look that must have been in her flawless eyes, and the frown that scared off her seductive smile.
In the silence, a light and weak knock at the door broke Seamus from his train of thought. He sighed because he didn't want to have to deal with anyone's shit, and he just wanted to mope to himself. Imagine the surprise he felt when he pulled back the door and saw the love of his life.
Iris stood in the rain at his doorstep. The longer parts of her hair that stuck out from the cloak were wet, along with the rest of her petite body. With her manicured hands, she pulled down her hood as her lips shook. "I know I screwed up." She spoke over the rain. "He didn't love me, and he never did! I'm sorry, I should have listened to you, but I was a stubborn child about it. I was an idiot to ever think he truly cared about me, and to try and tell myself that I didn't love you when I knew damn well I did! I'm sorry, I.. I'm sorry."
As the drops of rain hit her face, Seamus couldn't tell if she was actually crying or not. It wouldn't change the way his heart broke to see her upset, worn, and so fragile. "Stay here." He told her as he left the door open and ran to the back of the house. When he returned to her seconds later he was in the midst of pulling on his jacket. "Come with me?" He asked, offering her a hand.
"To where?" She questioned, even if she did take the offered hand.
Seamus pulled her closer than she was comfortable with in her current state, causing a little gasp to come out of her mouth. He wrapped an arm around her back, and placed the other under her legs. Without her permission, he picked her up and held her tight in his arms. "I'm taking you back to my room at the headquarters. It's a lot safer, and cleaner. James is on night shift, but other than that, it's empty."
Iris didn't argue. She nestled herself into his arms and let him carry her to a teleporter while the rain fell on their backs. Iris knew how weak she was, and all she needed was for someone to love her beyond words. That someone was Seamus.
The second they couldn't hear the rain anymore, they knew they were in the stars, looking over earth. Still in Seamus' arms, Iris took a look around to see it was completely empty just like she had been told. "I can walk you know." She murmured.
"I know." He replied with a smirk. Iris closed her eyes and smiled as she rested her head on his chest. Seamus carried her to his dim lit room and let her down in the bathroom. Each of the rooms in The Creatures HQ were pretty big, considering they all spent so much time here. Seamus lit a few of the candles on the bathroom counter, making them the only light source, then turned the handles of the large bathtub. "I can get you some clothes from Cierra's room. I'm sure she won't mind." He informed her.
