I literally love that picture so much. XD

Ice cold water jolted me awake. I shot up and looked around. I couldn't see anyone, but I could hear footsteps and a quiet laugh. The window creaked open and someone jumped out.
My clothes were soaked and cold. I was glad I'd grabbed an extra set before we'd left. I suddenly realized that my clothes weren't the only things cold and wet. My bed and blankets had absorbed the water. I glared out the window. I'd figure out who it had been.
I changed quickly and sat down in the chair in front of the fire. Just as I got settled in I heard a surprised shout from downstairs shortly before a crash and the clash of swords.
I got up from the chair and crept to the door. Following the sounds of swords to Moleck's room. I opened the door and saw Moleck fighting with two swords that seemed to be moving on their own. Moleck turned when I walked in and the swords slipped through rings that I couldn't see and bounced through a window. Moleck glared after them.
"You got the cold water treatment too?" Moleck asked, sheathing his sword and pointing to my wet hair. I realized for the first time that he was dripping.
"Yes," I said. "Who did it?"
Moleck picked up a dry blanket and started drying his hair. "Haven't you guessed by now?"
I thought for a moment. "Arno?"
"Sneakier," Moleck threw the blanket on the floor and started looking through the dresser. "And a little shorter."
"Rook?"
Moleck tossed a pile of clothes on a desk in the corner. "Exactly. If you don't mind I need to get changed and enjoy a restful night in a desk chair."
"I have an extra chair in front of the fire in my room," I offered. "It's completely unused if you want to come up. Make sure you bring blankets though, all of mine are soaked."
Moleck grinned. "I'll do that. A fire sounds really nice right now."
I left his room and took the stairs two at a time. I was still cold from the water Rook had dumped on me. I had be warned about practical jokes, but I hadn't really expected any. I'd have to get her back.
I flopped into the chair only to find that it was cold and wet. I tested the other chair, it was dry. At least Moleck would be comfortable. Needing to sleep on the floor made me glad that the carpet was so soft.
The door creaked open. "Knock knock," Moleck walked over and looked at the two chairs, dropping the stack of blankets on the floor. "Which one is safe to sit in?"
"That one," I pointed to the dry one. "The other one is wet."
Moleck sat down and threw some blankets at me. "Those are for you."
"Thanks."
I wrapped myself in the blankets and fell asleep again.
The next morning Moleck and I were the first ones up.
About an hour after we both trudged down the stairs, Rook marched through the living room with a determined look on her face.
"Uh oh," Moleck said, leaning back in his chair. "She's got her danger face on."
"Good morning you two," she leaned against the door-frame and smirked at us. "How'd you sleep?"
"Just fine thank you," I said, glaring daggers at her. "What about you?"
She looked like she was doing her best not to laugh. "I didn't sleep at all. See you later!"
I looked to Moleck. "Didn't sleep?"
Moleck shrugged. "It's just something she does. She thinks it's a waste of time."
"How does she stay up that long?"
"Nobody knows," Edward interrupted, walking in and spreading himself out on the floor, propping his head up with one hand. "She's done it since I first met her."
I thought about that and looked out the giant window.
Arno was up shortly after. Walking through the room with the same determined look that Rook had had. The three of us watched him suspiciously. He shot me an amused look that didn't improve my opinion.
"What do you think they're up to?" Moleck asked.
"I want you to answer one thing for me first," Edward said, pushing himself up to a cross-legged seat. "What got broken last night?"
Moleck sighed. "My pride."
Edward and I laughed. "I don't doubt that!" Edward said with a smile. "But I was talking about objects."
"Oooohhh," Moleck said sarcastically. "About that..."
"I think an even better question would be to ask what happened last night," I interjected. "I think you'd be proud of your apprentice."
Edward raised an eyebrow at me. "I'm intrigued," he said. "What did the lass do that was so special?"
Moleck growled in annoyance. "Only dumped a bucket of ice cold water on both of us! Nothin' special!"
Edward hooted with laughter. "So that's why I heard swords! I would have checked it out myself, but I didn't want to disturb anyone. You're right, I am proud of the lass."
"She takes after your own heart," Moleck grumbled. "Well, I'm going to get some breakfast! Anyone else starving to death?"

Hey there everyone! Thanks for reading my books! I just looked today and discovered that there are over 600 views on this story, over 1,000 on Brothers Unite, 20 on A Rookie's Flight (even though I just started that one), almost 200 on The Assassins of Skyrim, and almost 100 on my writing one. That is just over 2,000 total views on all of my works combined! Thank you for all of your support! You've all kept me motivated to keep writing, otherwise I probably would have stopped long before finishing ACBU!
I'm happy to answer any questions that you might have for me or the characters.
May the wind blow strong in your sails and good fortune smile upon you!
