The day had progressed. I was now sitting on the couch of the living room, intensely watching one of my favorite shows on Tv. I shoved my face with chips and Oreo's, my eyes growing wide whenever something crazy happened on the show. So far, Chicago was pretty amazing. I loved everything about it, especially the neighborhood. Everyone seemed so nice... Minus the people who sat downtown all day begging for money. I always felt bad for them.
As I continued watching the show, I heard a sudden knock on the door, taking my attention away from the TV. I sighed, getting off the couch to make my way to the door. Before doing anything else, I looked out the side window, and saw Patrick standing there with a shy smile on his face. I smiled back at him, and swung the door open.
"Oh, uh, hey Patrick! What's up?" I asked, shyly offering him to come in. He smiled meekly as he sat next to me on the couch. "You know, I actually never even bothered to give you my name! I'm Annie," I chuckled shyly, my eyes darting down to my feet. He had a cute look on his face, and I could tell he was trying not to laugh. "I- I'm sorry. I'm just-" I sighed, trying to figure out the right thing to say to him. He scooted closer to me and chuckled.
"It's okay, I totally understand." He smiled. I blushed, completely embarrassed of what I had just done. When my blush faded, I told him a few things about myself. The usual new neighbor routine. My name, age, birthday, all that basic stuff, and by the end of it, he knew just about everything about me, and I knew pretty much everything about him.
"So, what did you do before you moved here?" He asked with a sparkle in his eye, and a never fading smile on his face.
"I used to work in an old grocery store, and I hated it there. I wasn't getting much money out of it, so I quit, and came here, looking for new opportunities," I explained, sprawling myself across the couch. Patrick chuckled, smiling softly at me again. I tilted my head curiously, "You know, I've noticed something about you ever since we've met." I said, a small, shy smile growing on my face.
"Yeah? What's that?" He asked.
"You never seem to keep your eyes off of me. Why is that?" I chuckled softly. He smiled, a slight blush crawling to his cheeks.
"Because, I think you're beautiful..."
