Samus
It was the day of the Smash Run.
My heart felt like it was completely stifled with sorrow. There was a knock at the door. "Samus, I have something urgent to tell you."
I wiped away my tears. "Come in!"
She opened my bedroom door. She walked in and sat on a nearby chair. "I think that your boyfriend, or at least I'm assuming-"
"Yes, he was, I saw you guys yesterday."
"I hope you know-"
"No, I don't blame you for anything," I interrupted. "It's fine, we were growing apart anyway."
Melissa came towards me and enclosed me in her arms. "It'll be fine, girl. Say, isn't it Smash Run today? Aren't both you and Captain Falcon entered?"
I nodded.
"Show him no mercy."
Marth
I awoke to see boobs in my face.
I looked around to see that Caeda and I were crashed on the sofa, still wearing our party attire. I guess we fell asleep watching TV after that insane party. Caeda was still sleeping. I got up off the sofa, careful not to wake Caeda, and saw in the mirror that the sequins on her dress left a mark on my left cheek from the accidental position I slept in.
Whoops.
My footsteps awoke Caeda. "Sorry," I said. I walked over to the kitchen and started to boil water for tea. "Hey, turn the TV on, I think Smash Run is about to start," I said.
She turned the TV on. There was a countdown for how long until the Run.
11 minutes.
Good luck, Link and Ike.
Zelda
Link had 10 minutes until the Smash Run. "Promise you'll be safe, and that you won't do anything to harm yourself."
We were sitting in the courtyard outside of Entrance 2 to the Smash Run Stadium. We sat on swings hanging from a Kokiri Oak Tree. "I'll try my hardest," he said.
The silence consumed the air. After about a minute of quiet, I reached out to Link's hand. He held my hand gently. I felt the calluses on his left hand from fighting with a sword. "I don't care about canon anymore," I stated. "I'm tired of these rules, the ones that dictate our every move and choice, and the ones that put us in danger without our say in any of it."
There was a pause. "I'm sure you agree," I said.
He got up off of his swing and kissed me. His heartbeat sped up, just as mine did. The gleam in his sparkling eyes told me he felt the same way.
That was all the proof I needed.
Ike
It had only been two minutes into the Smash Run and I knew there was no chance that I could win. My stats were extremely low, I kept encountering enemies, I couldn't take my mind off of Samus, I slept on my wrist wrong...
It was just fabulous.
I saw Captain Falcon, fighting some enemies. He was being ambushed. As part of me wanted to go help him, a Prymid came up behind me. It only took 3 hits before he disintegrated.
I felt a disturbance in the air. 20 Prymids came behind me at once.
Samus
I saw both Captain Falcon and Ike, Captain Falcon struggling and Ike doing fine.
What a surprise.
Captain Falcon had a wave of Prymids approach him. Ike was about to have about 20 Prymids dropped on his head.
Who do I choose?
My "boyfriend" or good friend?
This could be a matter of life or death.
I knew I could only help on of them.
I chose Ike.
Ike
I felt hits upon hits.
Blood pounded in my ears.
Five Prymids all fell at once. Samus came behind the crowd and shot them. I managed to hit a few and they disintegrated. There were only 2 left. I brought my sword to one's neck. With one swift blow he fell. I stabbed him again to be sure.
Samus brought up her arm canon and swung it down onto the other Prymid's head. She shoved her arm canon in its face and launched a missile.
"Good work," she said, her voice muffled by her helmet.
"Thanks," I replied.
"Are you hurt?" Samus asked, inspecting my wounds.
"I'll be fine, thanks," I assured.
Captain Falcon was out of sight.
We walked, gaining more stats as the timer counted down. My wounds actually did hurt, a lot, but I didn't want to appear weak in front of Samus. After a few more steps, I fell. "I won't slow you down," I said. I use the teleport capsule nearby to get myself out of the arena. I waved her goodbye.
Good luck, Samus.
Samus
When it came down to the final battle, Battlefield only had one opponent for me, and that was Link.
Oh, s***.
The battle began, Link drew his sword. I came on the offensive. I shot a missile at him, and he quickly dodged. He ran toward me, and brought his sword to my torso. I ducked to the ground, and his sword just missed above my head, and a hit him with my arm canon. While he was stunned, I kicked him, punched him, and jumped away. He got up off of the ground, and drew his arrow. Surprisingly, the bow hit its target. He hit my armor just so that the entire left side of my armor fell off.
Crap.
I shed my entire armor, and charged at him with dizzying speed. I stuck out my leg and kicked his shin and while he was stunned, I held my shoe to his throat. "Impressive," Link sputtered.
One Hour Later
I was hanging out with Zelda and Link after the battle. We were hanging out in Link's room while he was recovering after the battle. I got up off the sofa. "I should go check on Ike," I said.
"Bye," Zelda said.
"Congratulations," Link said.
I walked down the hallway. Guess who I ran into.
Captain Falcon.
"What the h***, Samus!" he yelled. "You could have saved me out there while I was getting my a** kicked! I saw you run to Ike! I saw you!"
"I saw you and Melissa," I replied.
"Is this how you want to play?"
"Don't even talk to me, it's through," I said.
I showed no mercy.
And I'm certainly glad.
