raggedy,
forgotten,
and missing a button.
the dear
teddy bear
sits on the
dust covered bed,
watching the minutes,
hours,
days,
years
pass by.
he yearns,
begs,
wishes
for someone
to love again,
and to be loved back.
with all his spare time,
he thinks.
he thinks back
to sunshine
and dress up
and laughter.
the laughter
that erupted,
playful,
like bubbles.
pigtails and
grass stains and
missing teeth,
that was her.
but she's gone now,
he doesn't know
where she is
or why she left.
so he will wait.
he will wait
and wait
and wait,
even as his
fur is bleached
by faint light
and his stitches
begin to weaken.
her dear
teddy bear will wait,
raggedy,
forgotten,
and missing a button.
