it is the color of the lost and the numb,
of those in between two sides,
of those unfeeling and unknowing.
when the sky loses joy, this is the color that envelops it;

it is the color of feeling nothing.
when the woman drags on her cigarette,
it is the color she becomes as she breathes

when youth falls away, this is the color replacing it.
this is the color of fear and hiding and isolation.
when pain is only found in order to feel something,
this is the color of her everything.

the contradicting twin.
now this, this is the color that arcs
through the sky when storms calm and the sun returns.
this is the color of a girl opening her eyes
and seeing more.
when she understands and is proud
and really feels something.
this is the color of every emotion at once,
of every color pushed into stripes,
hugging each other and knowing and feeling.
it is the color of courage,
of not backing down to unimaginable horror.
this is the color of loving people marching
through the streets and defying their fear.
when joy is found in each ray of light,
this is the color of her everything.(BROWNIE POINTS IF YOU CAN GUESS THE COLORS)
