The room spun as Frisk realized what Chara meant. It made sense....ever since Frisk fell into the Underground...the timelines began. Only Sans, Frisk, and Chara knew of the resets until recently...and it had upset everyone. If Frisk had never fallen....everyone would be free.
"And so....here's what I'm gonna do."  Chara spoke, snapping them from their thoughts. "I'm going to kill you and use your soul to break the reset button. It takes a human soul to destroy it for good. Sans was too stupid to figure that much out. I even delivered the human soul right to him...but he let Asriel reset." She shook her head. "I'm gonna destroy the reset button and earn my rightful place in the Dreemurr family. The timelines will have stopped and well be able to break the barrier. Ill be a hero...and you...a defeated villain."
Frisk stared at the ground. Up until now they had never even thought that the timelines were directly their fault...maybe Chara was right...maybe they were a villain...

Frisk was too shocked to even notice Chara raising her knife to kill....of course she took advantage of their weakness. She got under their skin and distracted them, then went for the kill.
Frisk noticed her just in time and dodged clumsily. The knife cut deep into their shoulder. Blood dripped onto the marble. They cried out in pain, and before they could recover Chara swung Frisk's knife. It raked across their ribs, cutting through their shirt into their flesh.
Their shirt was already being quickly stained with blood when a blade cut across their cheek, and another across their arm as they tried to cover their face.
Chara shoved Frisk back with her fist, clutching the knife. They leaned against the pillar for support, hands shaking and eyes wide.
This was the end. Chara had the upper hand and she was taking it, swinging for Frisk's throat with one knife, and their chest with the other.
The knives flashed in the pale light of the room....but it didn't shine as brightly as the bright beam of light that slammed into Chara, knocking her away from Frisk. She flew back and rolled across the marble floor, moving with the blow. Her HP dropped a little. It was a stun hit, not a kill hit. Asriel knew better than that.
He stood in front of Frisk protectively.
       "Stay away from them!"
