Turns out Stefan wasn't 'fine' at all, in fact he was passed the normal for a vampire, he's been causing us a bit of trouble, robbing the hospitals blood bank and near enough killing a teenage girl at the Miss Mystic Falls pageant.

Elena didn't like seeing her boyfriend struggling so she wanted us to put him down in the cell and that's exactly what we did, we had enough to deal with John Gilbert, adding an unstable Stefan to the whole situation would just make it harder.

Elena injected him with vervain before Damon put him down in the cell, while they were doing that, I was outside getting a device off Pearl. John Gilbert had come to the boarding house wanting a device that the 1864 Johnathan Gilbert made, which Pearl had.

None of us have a clue as to what the device is and I didn't like that at all, I like to know what I'm dealing with, especially if it's a Gilbert device, the last one was the compass that detected vampires.

Alaric did some digging on John with some help off his friend and found out that he was getting calls from the same number Elena used to try and get in contact with Isobel, but now the number has been disconnected, but fortunately for us there was another number that was tracked to an apartment in Grove Hill.

Damon kept me updated with what was going on while I was left at the boarding house to keep my eye on Stefan and Elena who had been staying at the boarding house since the night we put Stef in the cell.

Turns out that the number belonged to Harry, one of the tomb vampires, who was helping John keep an eye on the other tomb vampires who's still wanting revenge on the founding families, and in return John was helping him adapt to this century.

"Oh god, you're still here?" I snapped my eyes open to see Damon walk into the room. "Unfortunately" I grumbled as I had a drink of the whiskey. "Were you expecting anything else?" Elena asked.

"Nope" Damon spoke as he lifted her legs up so he could sit down placing them on top of his knees. "So, how was the errand?" Elena asked closing her book as Damon flicked his eyes over to me before looking over at her. "Futile" Damon groaned. "Although I think I witnessed the teacher having an existential crisis"

"Stefan eaten yet?" He asked looking over at me. "I thought you didn't care" Elena spoke up making us look over to her. "Chalk it up to morbid curiosity" Damon shrugged. "I think he's getting there, but he's got a lot of guilt that he has to deal with, and it doesn't help that you've both spent the last 145 years punishing him"

I stared at her shocked. "Hold on a minute, you're blaming this on us?" I asked as I stood up going to pour myself another drink. "You've both made it your life's mission to make his life miserable" I chuckled shaking my head. "You know nothing, Elena"

She knew nothing, both me and Damon had our reasons, one of the reasons been the same. "Let me ask you this, in all of this important soul searching and cleansing of the demons of Stefan's past did you ever manage to get the rest of the story?" Damon asked her making her stare at us both shaking her head.

"Well let me tell you the story of how I actually became a vampire. I'm sure Stef told you it was our father that killed us, but when I woke up at the quarry Damon nor myself wasn't going to complete the transition. Damon because of Katherine, myself because I had nobody, my whole family hated me-"

Elena cut me off. "Why did they hate you?" I chuckled looking off at the wall but not really seeing anything. "I was a disgrace... I stopped my parents from taking the only thing I had away from me, Damon and Stefan because I had something they didn't plus Steffie was up Giuseppe's arse... they both stood by, not doing anything while my so called father beat me black and blue"
