Braylon's POV
I walk slowly downstairs, the dream still fresh on my mind. I smell eggs cooking and hear bacon sizzling.
"You ok?" Jayden asks me.I let out a long sigh. "No, but I will be."
I'm far from ok, I think to myself.
"Yeah, once you taste this really good breakfast I made. It's killer."I sit down to eat and Parker comes marching down the steps. He stomps into the kitchen and half shouts at me.
"Why didn't you guys wake me up?"
Jayden and I share a knowing glance and groan. I point to him, letting him know that it's his turn to make up an excuse."Well..." He doesn't finish.
I roll my eyes. "We didn't want to wake you up."He swallows and let's out, "Are you kidding me Braylon? I'm your older brother. I'm supposed to be woken up in the middle of the night for you!"
"I know. Believe me, I know. I just don't want you to be woke up every night. And why is it that every morning we have this conversation?"
"Oh gee. I don't know. Maybe because you guys never wake me up in the middle of the night to help? It's always Grayson. I mean come on. I know he's you twin. But I'm the oldest."
I don't fight what he's saying. I just get up and hug him. I'm the only one that can hug angry brothers without getting screamed at.
I keep hugging him until he calms down. I let go, and head up stairs to get ready for school without looking at him.
I bump into Jace in the hallway. He stops and puts his hands on my shoulders. I moan, getting ready to hear another 'why didn't you wake me up' conversation.
"Guess what?" He asks excitedly.
"You grew your first armpit hair?" I ask in a monotone voice.
He makes a mock offended face. "No. I already have that. I grew my first chest hair."I laugh at how proud he looks with himself.
I shake me head and go get ready.
I pick out my outfits. A neon green shirt that says Think like a lady, act like boss. Sweat pant joggers and roches. I throw my hair into a high pony and walk back downstairs.~*~*~
I walk up to the gang and sit at the lunch table.
"Hey Bray." Ally and Amie greet me.
"Hey guys." I say back.Amie gives me a questioning look. "Why are you so happy?"
I let out a giggle. "Volleyball practice."
Ally starts squealing. "Oh yes!"I pick out the pickles on my sandwich and munch on them.
We talk for a while about a new kid, who apparently is really hot.The lunch bell rings, signaling block 7.
We go separate ways.
I get to my locker just as the second bell rings."Great. Now I'm gonna be late for class." I mumble to myself.
I grab my stuff and shut my locker.
I walk down the hallway, complaining to myself on how my class is on the other side of school.Someone pushes into me and both of our books fall on the floor.
I groan.
"Oh. I'm sorry. I didn't see you there." A deep voice says."Obviously." I give a short reply, without looking up.
He chuckles, sticks out his hand and I take it, standing up."Sorry again." He says and this time I look up. My heart freezes. Standing in front of me is a really, really hot guy.
"I-I. Sorry." I stammer."My names Aaron. Aaron Sky." I take that as an invitation to say my name.
"Braylon. Braylon Ryder." I say copying his example.I smile slightly, turning to go to my class. I'm about halfway down the hall when I stop and realize something. I make my way back to him, where he is standing there with a goofy grin on his face.
"Are you new here?"
He nods.
"Do you need help getting to your class?"Another nod.
"What class do you have?" I ask him.
"Living Environment Honors .""Oh me too. But we're late. So now you're my excuse. I was helping you to your class. Which is actually not a lie."
He nods and follows me to the room.
I open the door just hearing Mr. Mac finishing talking."You're late Ryder. Who's this?" He questions taking off his glasses.
"A new student, who I was helping
him to find his class. His name is Aaron." I tell him."Well Aaron, as you can tell, everyone here is known by their last name, so what's your?"
He takes a seat next to me and says, "Sky."
"Well, Sky. Welcome to LEH."
He nods and looks at me. He leans over and whispers, "What's LEH?""Living Environment Honors." He nods.
The class ends and Aaron waits for me by the door. "Hey um, can I have your um, number?" He says quickly.
My heart beat speeds up and I give it to him.
"Text you later." He winks and walks away.I wait until he is gone and do a quick happy jump. I just gave my number to a hot guy. Oh crap. I just gave my number to a hot guy.
What are my brothers gonna say?
I walk to volleyball, really worried.I get there to see Parker and Braydon
sitting on the bleachers. Grayson and Jace are at football and Jayden is at cross country.I look at them, a lump rising in my throat.
Parker narrows his eyes.I swallow and turn away, preparing for the 'what did you do' conversation when we get home.
But right now, I need to focus on volleyball. Kicking butt and taking names.
