The inside of the cottage was a mess. Most of the walls were covered with shelves full of books and jars' containing, from what Amethyst could see, strange fluids with what seems to be organs.

Nate led them into a room, barely lit, with thick purple curtains draped over the walls, stopping any light from coming in. A small chandelier was dangling from the ceiling, few candles alight. In the middle of the room was a round table, with a golden crochet cloth draped over it, giving the atmosphere a magical aura to it. A purple crystal ball was glowing on the center of the table, and three chairs were placed around it. Nate flicked his fingers and the room brightened, candles all around them were suddenly ablaze. Amethyst now noticed the paintings decorating the wall. They were mostly eyes of different colors and strange lenses. The scariest thing was that as she moved, the irises seemed to follow her every action.

Nate sat at one of the chairs behind the crystal ball and mentioned for them to sit on the remaining two facing him. Amethyst and Aelix took a seat beside each other. Aelix's back was straight, and he was stiff as a stick. Amethyst, on the other hand, was fiddling with her fingers and rubbed her hands on her clothes to remove the sweat. She was scared, and who wouldn't be in front of the most powerful warlock of all time, not forgetting to mention his strange features.

"Don't be scared, dear. I know you have questions to ask me. So go ahead."

Goosebumps ran all over Amethyst's body. She still wasn't used to this mind communicating thing. She glanced and Aelix and he nodded at her, giving her the permission she needed.

"I know you knew my mother, and I recently found out that I was a part of her magical experience. But the odd thing is that I don't remember a thing from it. I figured I had my memory erased. Was it you who did it?"

"Yes, I was the one who erased your memories. Your mother requested it of course; I would have not done it on my own will. She used to come here every month, and have your memory removed. Everything you knew about the magic world, the spells, your identity, everything was thrown away and locked somewhere in your brain where no one can get access to."

Amethyst was confused. Why would her mother remove her memories? Why didn't she want her to be part of that world?

"Can you bring my memories back?" she suddenly asked, the question coming out of her mouth without thinking about it.

"Normally, only the person who removed them can bring them back. So technically, yes I can. But I warn you, it is a very painful and dangerous experience."

"I am ready to do it. I deserve to know my past, no matter how dark it is." She replied bravely, straightening her back, feeling more confident now.

Nate nodded and closed his eyes. The crystal ball on the table started to change color, from a light purple to the blackest black. The candles were turned off by a light breeze that sent shivers down Amethyst's spine. The breeze started to get harder and harder, it's violent sound howling in her ears. She looked at Aelix who seemed as terrified as she were. Nate was still unmoving, eyes closed, and the wind started to knock things off their place, sending them crashing to the floor. Amethyst was trembling, cold to the core. Suddenly she felt a force punch her in the stomach sending her and the chair backwards. Then something yanked at her hair making her tumble to the floor.

"What's going on?!" shouted Aelix, standing up and hurrying to Amethyst's side. But before he could take a step forward, something pushed him down and locked him in place. He couldn't move a muscle, and he felt furious. Amethyst was going through some serious problems and he can't do a thing to help her. He felt useless.

Amethyst's body was jerking on the floor, her limbs now in unnatural angles. Her eyes turned back into her head, the whites showing. She was shivering furiously and the sound of bones cracking could be heard. She didn't know what was happening to her. She wanted to scream, to shout for help, but she couldn't find her voice. Her heart beat so fast she thought it would explode. She started seeing images in front of her, images of her as a kid, she saw elves, the creatures she always saw in books but never actually saw them. She saw warlocks, and recognized them from their sharp features similar to Aelix's.

Images flashed rapidly in her mind, she only got little glances of them. But one in particular stayed long enough for her to see the black human figure, similar to the one in her dreams, and heard it whisper kamisama because fading away.

Then all of a sudden, the images stopped, her body fell limp, the wind disappeared, and she lost consciousness. Aelix, now free from his invisible chains, raced to her and held her in his arms. He gently removed the hair away from her face and caressed her cheeks delicately. His eyes were full of worry and concern for her.

"What have you done to her?!" he shouted at Nate who was now looking at them.

"I warned the princess this process was dangerous. She didn't listen to me and did it. She'll be fin, don't worry. She just lost consciousness. She is really tired. Come, let's put her on the bed so she can rest and we can continue our questioning when she's feeling better. I am sure she wouldn't want to leave without having all her questions answered."

Aelix carried the princess's body to the warlock's room, and placed her gently on the bed.

"Come, let me make you a cup of tea and we will wait for her in the living room."

"No. I am not leaving her side. Thank you for the offer though." Aelix replied, never taking his eyes off Amethyst. He held her hand tightly, and leaned back in his chair right beside her.

Amethyst shifted in her sleep, and Aelix jerked up from his sleeping position. He must have fallen asleep while watching over her. Slowly, the princess opened her eyes, and ranked them over the room, taking in her surroundings, before she settled them on him. She smiled, "Well, this situation seems familiar." She said, referring to the first time they met. Aelix laughed dryly.

"How are you feeling?" he asked her, his eyes filled with emotions.

"I'm fine I guess. My body hurts but nothing fatal." She reassured him. "Where is Nate? I would like to ask him some questions and leave. I do not feel safe here somehow."

Aelix helped Amethyst into standing up and led her into the living room, where Nate was sitting on a couch sipping on tea.

"I'm glad you're fine now. Now, I am sure you want to continue what you started. Sit."

After taking a seat beside each other and facing the warlock, a sense of fear settled in Amethyst churning her stomach.

"Are my memories back now?" Nate nodded.

"How can I go through them?"

"Some will come in dreams, others will come in visions. And some may never show. It depends." Amethyst nodded.

"I know you still have a question you didn't ask. Tell me, what is it?"

"I saw a dark figure in my dreams, and it told me I was his daughter. It called me a kamisama and I have no idea what it means." Amethyst sighed.

Nate's eyes widened and shook his head. Amethyst frowned. Was there something wrong in what she said?

"What I'm going to say right now isn't something easy to digest. A kamisama is a really powerful creature. It's a half breed actually. Originally, it is born from both a witch and a demon. Since your mother is a witch, which could only mean that your father, you real father is a demon. But you said that you saw a figure in your dream. The only demon that has the ability to speak to a living creature in their dreams is well, Satan. That could only mean that Amethyst, your real father is the ruler of Hell."
