Amethyst spent the remaining time she had left in her kingdom training non stop. She trained physically and mentally. You would always find her either hidden under piles of magic books or practicing her fighting skills in the training room. She had everything figured out except one thing: Aelix.
They still hadn't talked about the kiss they shared and the memory keeps haunting her. He's been avoiding her like the plague since they came back from rhe wizard's place. And how could she forget that too. That day her whole life shattered in front of her eyes. She lived 18 years of utter lies. She mostly trained to erase her questions from her mind but they kept nagging her.Kamisama kamisama kamisama
She repeated that word countless times. She still couldn't believe that she was half witch, half demon. And her mother! God! She couldn't even let herself think about it.
It was the night before their departure, then sun was way behind the ocean and the full moon illuminated the world around Amethyst. She was laying in her back, staring at the stars, on the roof of the castle. She didn't have any special place to go to when she felt sad or emotional, she just went wherever she liked. Tonight she chose the roof, the stars, and the silence. She closed her eyes, her breathing calm and controlled. At sunrise they would be mounting their horses and setting off to God knows where. She was scared, she admits it.
She was scared of the creatures she will see. The creatures she thought were only myths and legends.
Elves, fairies, witches. She only read about them in her fantasy books. She only knew about them because of the bedtime stories her maid used to tell her, since her mother was always too busy for her.
What do they like? Would they be the same as her books describe them? Would she see a fairy with wings that leave dust behind? She never thought she will know that kind of informations, but figures out she will.
Her life took a whole different turn than she expected it to be."Princess."
Princess. She wasn't even the king's daughter.
"Princess."
The title isn't even hers.
"Princess."
She is a disgrace to the kingdom. She wasn't even the true heir of the throne.
"Amethyst!"
She snapped out of her thoughts and searched for the source of the voice. Sure enough, she found aelix crouching down beside her, staring straight into her eyes. It was the first interaction they had since the discovery."Aelix. What are you doing here?" She asked, propping up on her elbows. Doing that was a mistake, seeing as now her face was even closer to his. Her eyes immediatly traveled down to his lips but she quickly snapped out of it and met his blue orbs again.
"I was looking for you. I need to talk to you. It's really important." He answered her, with a really serious expression on his face.
"How did you find me?" She raised her eyebrow, curious. Usually no one could ever find her when she was alone. But Aelix did. He really was something else.
"Actually it was a hard task. I looked everywhere for you. The roof was my last option. I never expected I would find you here."
She nodded, and laid back down. She sighed as her eyes searched the starry sky. Aelix sat down beside her and pulled his legs to his chest, leaning his chin on his knees.
"Start talking." She said as she closed her eyes, feeling a little sleepy.
"Amethyst, about the kiss we shared," her eyes flew open, and she looked at him, or what she could see of him. His profile was illuminated only by the moonlight, casting shadows over his sharp features. His black hair shone slightly with a blue hue. He looked almost unreal, she had to look away but she couldn't avert her eyes.
" I know we still haven't talked properly about it, but it has been bothering me ever since and I wanted to comfront you about it. I wasn't lying when I said it was a mistake and that we shouldn't have done it,", her heart broke a little hearing those words, but she listened still, " I mean you are the princess and I'm just a simple warrior. I have sworn to protect you. I can't let other things distract me from my goal, but I can't deny the fact that you are distracting me by just standing there all the time. God, Amethyst! You are driving me crazy! You and your perfect black hair, the way your eyes lit up with a fire when you are excited about something, your force and ability in fighting. You have gotten better in everything. And I just can't stop thinking about you. That kiss made me go even crazier about you but it also made me remember my objective and my mission, so I just wanted to tell you that we should just forget about it an-"
His sentence was cut off aburtly by something soft pressing against his lips. It was Amethyst, kissing the life out of him. His immediate response was to close his eyes, he encirculed his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him. Their bodies were glued, not a single space left between the both of them. Aelix laid down on his back, Amethyst on top of him, never once breaking the kiss.
His words hit her like a strike of a sword; sharp yet unexpected. He thinks SHE is making him crazy, but he had no idea of the effect he had on her too.
She just couldn't continue listening to the nonsense that was coming out of his mouth, so she attacked his lips with her own, craving their taste.
She had longed for the moment she would feel his lips again, longed for the moment she would be in his embrace. His enormous arms were engulfing her, caging her, but she wasn't complaining. For the first time since her parents' death, she felt safe, at peace. She never knew Aelix would make her feel that way again.
He run his tongue along her bottom lip, and she opened her mouth, granting him what he wanted. Their tongues met and started dancing together to the same rythm. Their lips were moving in perfect sync. She ran her hands in his hair, black silky smooth hands slipping through her fingers.
Aelix groaned, and Amethyst, hearing that sound, pushed herself even closer to his body, if that was even possible. She removed one hand from his hair and glided it down his face, feeling the faint subtle on his jaw, to his collar, where she started unlacing his tunic. His lips aburtly stopped moving against hers and he removed his arms from around her to pull away her hands from his chest.
"No, princess. We can't. We shouldn't. Especially the night before our departure. You need to rest, and so do I. It just, I just...nevermind." He got her off of him and stood up, almost falling, losing his balance. When he regained it, he bowed, and left Amethyst sitting on the roof, alone, dumbfounded, her lips swollen and thrubbing.
She brought two fingers to her lips and sighed, closing her eyes.
After a couple of minutes, she stood up and made her way downstairs into the castle to finally get some sleep. Tomorrow is the awaited day.She was finally getting her revenge.
Only a couple of monsters stood in her way.
Easy.
Not.
