"Ella...please don't take this the wrong way...this means nothing."
I knew that by saying this all I was doing was making Ella angry and upsetting Adam.
"Let's go, Scott." She said upset.
I didn't want to make her sad.
But I had to show Adam that I like him too...
This was getting too much.
We left the hospital and as we went past the reception, I felt something slip into my pocket. I turned back go look at Adam and he smiled.
When we arrived at her house, Ella didn't speak to me. It's funny how sometimes silence is more powerful than words. After a few hours, I decided I was ready to speak to her.
I walked fearfully towards her.
"Ella...?"
She didn't respond.
"Ok, you don't have to speak. Just listen." I tried to speak in the kindest way possible.
"Ella, I miss you. I need you in my life. Without you I feel empty. The thing with Adam...was nothing. He pulled me in and kissed me by surprise."
I lied to keep myself safe. The lying would only work for a while before she would find out the truth. In the meantime, I could figure out who I want more. Adam or Ella?
