I slammed the telephone down disconnecting Kaitlyn and I's conversation. I don't know what's wrong with me, but I feel so mad and sad at the same time. Tears are now starting to fall to my cheeks.

This is our first fight that ends so badly

This is our first fight that ends so badly. And this is our first fight about a freaking boy. So pathetic. I am pathetic.

I crawled up to my bed and buried my face in my pillow, crying like I've lost everything. Well, I lost my friend. I lost my second half. Why do I have to be so difficult? Why can't I just let my bestfriend be happy? Am I too selfish because the boy that I liked, likes her so much? Why am I always losing to everything? Why can't someone choose me?

"Effie it's dinner time." Mom knocked on the door. I didn't respond and I just layed in my bed wiping my tears. "Effie," she knocked once more.

"I'm not hungry mom. I'm going to sleep." I told her, loud enough for her to hear.

"Are you okay? Do you want milk?"

"No mom, thank you."

"Alright, if you want something just tell me. I'm in the kitchen." And she walked out. My tears started to fall again because I see the picture of me and Kaitlyn in my side table. It was Christmas seven years ago. We were both wearing the same shirt and same gloves. I missed her so much, she's the sister that I never had. I confess that I always get jealous of her, she's the pretty and the smartest one. She's always the girl that everyone pick, and I'm just the second option.

The phone rang and I picked it up, hoping that it wasn't Kaitlyn because I'm not ready to talk to her yet.

"Hello?"

"Hi Effie the monkey."

"Hi Kaden.." I whispered.

"Are you okay? You sounded off."

"I'm okay." I lied.

"No you're not. I know you Effie, even if we haven't seen each other."

My heart just melted.

I sighed. "I was just sad. And mad at myself."

"Why? Is it about your bestfriend?"

"Yeah. We fought. Again. And I told her goodbye. I pushed her away, am I bad?"

I hear him sigh, " Maybe you were just mad. But I think you should forgive her. It's the only way to fix your friendship. I know you missed her."

"Yeah I missed her, but I can't talk to her again."

"Just think about it. You'll be brave enough to talk to her again. Geez, I can't believe I'm giving advices."

I laughed, "Thanks Kaden. But, do you think someone will like me? Like actually pick me and love me for who I am? Urgh, I sound so desperate. Thanks again,I should rest now."

"Effie of course someone will like you. I think you have a good heart. That's what many boys like, not just fake faces. You know what I mean? Just be yourself and you'll find the right guy for you"

"Haha. Okay Kaden I didn't know you'll say that. Thank you. But anyway, I really should sleep."

"Wait, um.."

"What is it?"

"Uh.. Um.. I.. I...Ugh, nevermind. Goodnight Effie, sweet dreams." And he hung up. I put down the phone. He's weird. Kaden is stuttering? Pft.

I lay myself in bed again looking at my blank ceiling and started to cry myself to sleep.
