"This is your fucking fault."
I snap my head up and glared at this annoying guy who's holding a mop. What the hell is his problem? If he didn't sit next to me, this would never happen. I tighten my grip on the mop I'm also holding, we continued throwing daggers at each other, I hate him so much, I really hate him. He rolled his eyes giving up from the glare.
I also continued on mopping, this detention is the worst detention I've ever had. The cafeteria's floor is so disgusting, stains everywhere, fallen food on the floor and dirty tables. This is my first time in holding a mop, in other words, this is my first time to clean something. I never do household chores. I'm a lazy daughter. Sorry not sorry.
"What time are we stopping?" He asked me, as he abandoned the mop and disgustedly wiped a dirty table. I rolled my eyes still mopping the floor. I have no plans in talking to him.
"Hey, what time are we stopping." He asked again, he threw the towel he used inside a pale of water and waited for my answer but I didn't respond. "Hey, do you clean your ears?"
I glared at him,"I don't know! Just keep on cleaning so we can finish early."
I heard Paul groaned and continue on what he's doing. Even if he looks attractive I couldn't really deny that he's annoying. I so wanna go home. Kaden might be calling me now, and I have a lot of homework to do.
Paul and I just cleaned silently, I didnt talk to him so was he which is good because I'm not in the mood to deal with him. As the minutes goes by, the floor is almost clean and dirty tables are now wiped clean as well. The teacher that gave us this freaking detention entered the cafeteria with her arms folded in her chest.
"Ms. Simpson and Mr. Thompson." She called us and we stared at her, putting down the mops we're holding.
"I hope you two learned your lesson. You can now go home." She told us and she disappeared outside.
I sighed in relief, "Fucking finally."
Paul washed his hands and took his bag, "Where are you going?" I asked him as I wash my hands as well. He gave me a 'duh' look.
"Home. Unless you want to follow me." He smirked and I rolled my eyes.
"I'm not a stalker."
"Good." He said and he went out. I really wanna punch him for some reason. After washing my hands clean, I also took my stuff and got out from the cafeteria. Walking in the hallway, some kids are now going home, I haven't seen Kallum so I think he went home too. When I was about to go to my locker my legs froze as I see Michael and Kaitlyn in the lockers area. I quickly hid behind an open door feet away from them. It's been days since the last time I talk to Kaitlyn on the phone.
"Did you talk to her?" I heard Michael asked softly in her side as he caresses Kait's chin. She's now closing her locker and turn to look at his eyes. They look so perfect for each other. I can't believe I loved Michael. Maybe that was just an infatuation because I have no feelings for him right now. Like all the love I felt for him vanished since the day he said that he loves my best friend. I confess that I'm still hurt but I guess I should move on and support them.
I saw that Kait shakes her head. "Mike, she's still angry. She pushed me away. I hurt her. I just can't make her mad at me again if I talk to her. It's all my fault, I ruined our friendship." She told Michael and closed her eyes. Sadness filled her voice. I know she's referring to me. It made me guilty because she's hurting too. I wanted to run and hug her but my pride is making me stop and just watch them. I'm so jealous because she has everything she never imagined she would have.
Michael stares at her with love and admiration, he brushes her cheeks. Maybe Kaitlyn changed him, as far as I know Michael never dates anyone and he's really a bad boy and a bully. I can't believe I liked him, and I can't believe they will end up together. "Kait look at me," Michael whispers, Kaitlyn opened her eyes and they both stared at each other. I know I'm invading their privacy, but I want to hear what he has to say.
"Making her angry wasn't your fault, babe. It was mine. I hurt her feelings, I know I already apologized but maybe it wasn't enough. I will apologize again. Try to talk to her again, I know Effie loves you. She will forgive us eventually. She'll be okay I promise. You'll both be okay." He said. I forgive you both. I wanted to say that. If they just knew, but I don't have the balls to look and talk to them again because it just reminds me of pain. They remind me of perfection, that cliché stories like the badboy and the good girl really end up together. It makes me jealous because I want that kind of love story for me to happen. That the popular guy at school will actually like me. But no. I guess fairy tales just doesn't exist to everyone.
"I really miss her, Mike. She doesn't have a friend. I want to—" Michael silenced her by putting his finger against her lips.
"She's fine. I know she has a friend. Or maybe friends. I took care of it. Who knows maybe she'll thank me soon. She's a tough girl, let's just give her time."
Kait nodded, "Okay." Last thing I knew is that they end up kissing. My gaze fell on my hands and started walking out. My mouth fell open as I remember what Michael told her.
I took care of it. Who knows maybe she'll thank me soon.
What does he mean?
