1 year later

"Hey, area!" Tay called after me.

"Hey Tay!" I yelled back and walked towards her. This time when she filled me in on all the gossip, I payed attention. I listened and exclaimed at all the interesting things she was telling me. I wasn't constantly thinking of my father, or the abuse. I was focused on the moment, like most girls my age. It felt good.

"So, what are we doing after school?" Tay asks.

"Don't you remember? You, chad and I are going bowling?" I laughed at her forgetfulness.

"Oh! Right! Isn't it weird hanging out with him after you guts broke up?"

"Not at all. He's a really good friend to. It's not even awkward. I'm glad he's still in my life." That's right, chad and I broke up, a few weeks ago. He's was such a good boyfriend, but I need to be alone for awhile. He deserves to find a girl that can just as good as he is. He will forever remain my best friend, and my savour. He saved my life, and go the abuse out of my life. I will forever be grateful for that.

"I'm glad he's in your life too. I'm glad he got you to tell someone. You deserve to be happy a." She said softly and pulled me into a hug. I started to cry at her words.

"Oh Tay, thank you. You deserve to be happy too. I love you beat friend." I said crying softly.

"I love you too."

The morning went by swiftly, but I was really glad it was lunch time. Taylor, chad and I got out trays an had lunch together. We joked, and laughed and just had a good time. It felt right, it felt safe, it felt happy. These two are the best people I've ever met. The afternoon if school was not as good as the morning. I had all my least favourite classes. Except for gym with Tay, that was good.

"Strike! Yes!" I exclaim sitting next to chad, as Tay goes up for her turn.

"You mad I brought my friend Harley?" Chad asked.

"Not at all, he's a really funny guy."

"Yeah? I was hoping you two would hit it off actually." He confessed.

"What? Chad! Is that why you brought him here?"

"Well.. Yeah. I want you to be happy. And I want him to be happy. He needs a girl like you, and you need a guy like him."

"Chad! You suck!" I yell.

"What did he do this time?" Harley asks coming from the bathroom. I blush, and look down.

"Oh, you know. The usual sarcastic comments."

"Sounds about right. Want me to beat him up for you?" He asks chuckling. I laugh in response.

"Your turn, mister chad. I'm going to get snacks, you guys want anything?" Taylor asks.

"No, thanks." We all say at the same time.

"You have a cute laugh." Harley says smiling. I blush, hardcore.

"Thanks. You have a cute smile."

"Can I have your number? Maybe we can hangout sometime?" He asks looking hopeful. I don't want to ruin his hopes.

"Yeah sure. Let me see your phone."

"Okay. Give me yours and I'll put my number in there."

We exchange numbers and continue laughing and joking. Bowling was a success.

"You and Harley sure hit it off, didn't you?" She winked.

"Will shut the light off?" I subject change. I live with Taylor now. Best decision I ever made.

"Fine. But you'll tell me eventually." She says and does an evile laugh.

"I love you, good night loser."

"Love you too, good night dork." Peaceful sleep at last, in a safe room, a safe place.
