The 1st month of the semester went by pretty fast and I was really grateful. Hopie hyung and I became good friends since we have the same classes throughout the semester well except for Physical Education. But I'm still grateful because I'm classmates with Taehyung and Jimin in our PE class. They told me they didn't want to do aerobics which is supposed to be their PE for sophomores so they transferred to my class which is baseball.
I was on my way home when I decided to drop by a milk tea shop.
"Hello! Welcome to Sweet Jams Tea Shop!"
"Jimin?"
"Oh Jungkook it's you!" He smiled widely that his eyes disappeared and almost all his teeth are shown.
"I didn't know you work here hyung"
"Well I'm just helping my mom during my free time. Besides it takes away my boredom from staring at my notes while trying to study for my exams tomorrow"
"You own this?"
"Yup!" He smiled again. "So what can I get you?"
"Uhm there are a lot of choices... oh wait I'll have a Caramel milk tea with egg pudding and pearls as toppings!"
"Ok, coming right up!" He said as he started making my milk tea.
I took a seat as I waited and another person entered the tea shop.
"Eunjin noona?"
"Jungkook? What are you doing here?"
Duuuhhh to buy milk tea! I wanna facepalm myself for her question. "Just grabbing a drink before I go home" I answered her instead.
"Hi Eunjin!" Jimin greeted her. My cousin suddenly blushed and took a seat beside me.
"Hi Jimin. I'll have the usual" She said sweetly. Wait is she acting all cute just now? I wanna laugh! Hahahaha she isn't like this at home, she's nice but sometimes she gets to be really bossy and whine from time to time but I don't mind 'coz she treats me a cheesecake everytime I answer her homework or do her reports.
"Ok! Here's your drink Jungkook, it has 25% sugar level coz I figured caramel is already sweet. We don't want you coughing from too much sweetness in that drink hahaha ok enjoy!" Jimin said as he handed me my drink. Well I'm into sweets but he has a point though, too much sweetness might hurt my throat.
"So the two of you are close now?" Eunjin asked suddenly.
"Of course, we're classmates in PE and I like how competitive and good Jungkook is! Our team barely wins coz Jungkook here always hits a home run!" Jimin exclaimed. I felt uncomfortable as I'm not used to such praises.
"Really? Well, Jungkook is indeed athletic back in Busan"
"Busan? You're from Busan too?" Jimin asked with wide eyes. What's up with him?
"Uhm yeah" I answered.
"That's cool! We can now talk in our own dialect! Oh how I missed talking to someone in Busan dialect!"
I've finally concluded that Jimin is
1. Talkative
2. Full of Energy
3. Just plain positive about everything
"Well I guess that's good hyung because I also miss talking in satoori" I laughed and Eunjin noona coughed a little that I turned my attention towards her.
"Looks like you two are gonna be best buddies then. Jimin, my drink?"
"Oh right. Wait a second lovely" He said with a wink which made noona blush.
"I'll get going then. Byeee!"
I went out of the shop and started drinking my milk tea, it has the right amount of sweetness, I like it. As I was turning the corner someone called me.
"Hey kid!" I looked back and saw Yoongi, the pale looking boy from our class. I felt nervous ad its the 1st time he ever called me since school started. I tried to take a few steps to escape coz God knows what he will do, Hopie hyung said that I should stay away from Yoongi no matter what.
"Are you deaf?! Jeon Jungkook come here or else you don't want to see me angry"
I gulped and so I made my way towards him. I know, I'm such a coward.
"Yes hyung?" I meekly called out.
"Awww is little Jungkook scared of me? Don't b! Hyung just wants to ask a few questions and you'll answer them right?" He said with a smile but his last question, his face hrdened a little that scared the hell out of me.
"Ri-iight" I stuttered.
"So, you and Hoseok seems pretty close already. Mind telling me where he lives?"
"Sorry hyung I don't know. I've never been to his place. We just hang out in the library or the coffee shop just outside our school." I explained fast as I'm afraid he'll scold me for lying but its the truth, I don't know where he lives.
"You seem to be telling the truth though. Ok next, is he seeing someone now?"
"As far as I know, he's not hyung"
"Lastly, did he share anything about his past which might have included me?" He was staring deeply in my eyes and for a second I saw how desperate he is to know my answer.
"No hyung. I didn't ask and he didn't open up about it."
"Good. Looks like he's really moved on... or not. We'll find it out soon! Thanks bro. Go home straight, it's not safe around this street once its past 7 pm" He said as he walked to the other side.
I let out a long sigh. I was sweating from what just happened. I hope I didn't say something that might trigger a fight between them. Well, whatever.
"Jungkook? Why are you still here?"
"Ah noona! Yoongi hyung and I just talked for a bit. I'm heading home now"
"Yoongi? As in Min Yoongi from the Architecture department?" she asked with wide eyes. I nodded.
"How did you know him?"
"We're classmates in literature and history classes. Why?" Yoongi is already a Sophomore but since he failed these subjects, he has to take it up again that's why he's in my class. Just got this information from one of our classmates too.
"Jungkook, listen to me ok? Just keep a distance from Yoongi. You don't know him that well yet. If he ever try to talk to you again, answer him properly and excuse yourself and walk away. Understand?"
Now I'm confused. Yoongi doesn't seem to be a bad person. Sure he looks like a rebellious boy but he's too small and pale to be someone to be feared with.
"No. I don't understand noona. He seems nice." I said honestly.
"Jungkook! Just listen okay? This is for your own good!" she said as she grabbed me and started walking home.
I sighed again. "I just don't understand why" I voiced out softly. Eunjin stopped in her tracks and let go of my hand.
"Sometimes, what you don't know won't hurt you."
Then she walked ahead leaving me with so many questions.
