The Comeback

Chapter 5

*TOBIAS POV*

I finally left Christina. She's with Peter and Caleb. Like the traitors are going to help do anything. I have never forgiven Caleb for what he has done to his sister, she would've been alive, not lifeless. That's if she is alive. If she is, why do they want her? Society has changed, can't the new David get over the old?

I head towards the prison cells for the rescue. I turn to go around the corner until I found two guards blocking the entrance. Hopefully, they won't remember me, they've been erased long ago. I walk casually towards to two doors leading to the cells until I am stopped.

'Sorry, sir you cannot enter, you are not a leader and you certainly aren't genetically pure' the first guard demands. ugh, I hate it when someone says that I'm not pure, who gives a damn about their genes. I clench my fists and aim for the first guards jaw, which wipes him out clean. The second guard prepares to shoot but I dodge the bullet and snatched the gun out of his grip, and whacked it around his head.

I am now armed.

I barely remember Tris's room number. 

4016? 4610? 6410? No, I remember prison cell 4106. 

I go down the corridor, checking each bend. I stop when I recognise someone. The coward, alongside a woman with short blonde hair in a tight, navy blue dress, who stand outside room 4106. 

'She never opened her eyes, we knew she was awake, her brain told us so, that's why we did it.' David spoke harshly. 'I can't believe she is awake. You did a remarkable job by using that serum, couldn't have done it better back at my headquarters' the woman responded. It felt like I knew her from somewhere, however, I haven't thought about it yet.

An old man dressed in blue comes out the opposite room 'sir, Prior, she's awake, walking, even talking to herself, it's remarkable; however, we need to get started' he spoke with joy.

'Very well, Ms. Matthews please follow me into the lab, the trails start right away'.

'Goodie!' she responded. 

It's her, Prior. Tris. She is really here. I bet they are hurting her, physically and mentally. I need to somehow find a way to get her before they hurt her. 

Once David and the woman leave the corridoor, there is no one in sight. The door to room 4106 slowly opens with an armed guard holding a weak, battered body, Tris. They have hurt her.

I slowly tip-toe towards the guard, while double checking for any cameras. 

 < BANG > 

The guard drops to the floor. Followed by Tris but I catch her before her head hits to ground.

My Tris. She's alive, in my arms. Dry blood trails down her cheek and cuts along her eyebrows. Her hair has now grown back to its original length.

Her eyes slowly open. Her hazel eyes shine at the sight of me.

'Tobias' she croaks, she can barely speak, I then notice marks around her throat. What have they done to her? 

'Tris' and all at once we collide, it's been so long and it feels right. 

I cradle her on the floor. It's been so long since I kissed, touched or spoke to her. A piece of my heart was gone and now she's here, I feel complete. 

'We need to leave, they will be expecting you, come on' I pick her up, not wanting to hurt any part of her body.

We turn down a few corridors until we find an emergency exit door. I burst through the doors and the alarms go off.

I run to the nearest truck, strapped Tris in the backseat and got in the drivers seat. We're heading to a place I know they won't find her, a place where no one exists or where cameras lurk.

Ohio.

I hope everyone is enjoying it so far. I will post every certain day (I usually write this up before I post it and so far I've written up to chapter 10).

I enjoy writing this and I even have another idea for a different fanfic that I will write after this one.
