"What do ya think of the place so far?" Asked Simon cheerfully as they sat in the courtroom to eat.
"It's big that's for sure but I don't get why I have to stay here" mumbled Charlotte. Simon took a bite of his donut.
"Our boss's orders, besides it's not so bad here is it? You'll fit in just fine" he said reassuringly, his donut stuffed in his mouth. Charlotte sighed and took a sip of her hot chocolate.
"Mind if I sit here?" Charlotte looked up to see Adrian. Charlotte nodded and scooted over. "Mark seems shady to me don't you think?" She asked Adrian. Adrian tilted his head. "What do you mean?"
Charlotte was irritated he didn't answer her question. "Nevermind."
Simon held up the newspaper. "There's been a lot of attacks recently" he said. "Really? Let me see" said Adrian leaning over the table and snatching the newspaper away.Charlotte zoned out there conversation and was focused on Mark who was walking towards them.
"What?" She asked. Mark didn't respond. "Come with me" he said gesturing to Lewis's office. Charlotte looked at Adrian and Simon who were arguing about the newspaper. "Okay."
They walked down the hall in silence. "You'll be happy to know you get to visit home after your talk with Lewis" said Mark as he opened the door. Charlotte nodded and stepped into the room
Lewis was biting on a pen thinking of what to write. "Take a seat." There was no chair so Charlotte sat on the floor cross-legged. "The Mayor gave me this yesterday" he said tossing her a rolled up paper. Charlotte caught it and read it.
"Light?" She asked looking up from the paper. "Yep that's your element so that's your name" replied Lewis. Charlotte gave a crooked smile. "In other words" she pointed at him. "From now on you can call me the light witch."
