John's POV

I didn't do anything on Sunday, I'm new here and know zip about the area. I didn't want to put off as the annoying type to Dave by texting him sense we hung out all day Saturday.

What's a guy to do to get some attention without ruining his reputation huh?

I look at the teddy bear laying on my bed and smiled at it. Saturday will forever be one of my favorite days ever.

I grabbed my backpack and hopped down the stairs, I've felt so much better now that I have a friend. It lifted up my spirits when I needed to be lifted most.

But Dave will never know about that. He might think I'm attention grabbing or mental or ill or something bad. I guess as long as he doesn't ask I should be fine.

Because I can't lie what so ever.

I go to the living room where my grandma sat in her rocking chair. I smiled and walked over, kissing her head

"I'm going to school grandma. I love you and I'll dial if I'm coming home late" i said smiling sweetly.

"Ah, yes dear. How's your... Eh hem" she asked, patting her chest to indicate my heart. "Did you turn those papers into the nurses office Johnny?"

I frowned. I didn't like talking about this. But i knew she only brought it up because she cares. "I will turn them in today grandma I promise. And yes it's fine, nothing to worry about over a full recovery" I said softly

She nodded her head and with that I left. I sighed deeply, thinking of my mother as I walked to school

I pulled a chain out from under my shirt and rub the crystal gently before stuffing it back in my shirt.

I make it to school on time and to my first period, Dave was there with that cocky smirk again.

I couldn't help but smile as I sat down next to him.

"Alright class. Were going to start a partner project and sense most of you all are grouped in pairs, that person is now your partner."

I smiled to myself. This was the only class and time I saw Dave at school.

And now with this project. We can spend time after school on it.

The teacher gave us all individual topics to work on so there is no copy cats.

Me and Dave got started right away and he was actually quite intelligent behind the cool kid scene.

"Sense we can't finish this in two days in class maybe we can go to your house?" I asked Dave

"Uh.. I don't know. My brother is pretty weird and loves to embarrass me. Maybe we can work on it at your place?" he asked kinda shyly but i responded with a reassuring nod.

The day went on and I turned in my medical information into the nurse as I promised my grandma.

She gave me a pity look before I walked out and I hate it when people do that. I don't want their pity.

I dragged my feet to gym, I'm not fond of gym much either. I admit it, I'm a frail nerd.

After struggling through gym I took a shower in the locker rooms and dried off only because it was my last period before going home.

I change into my clothes and grab my things as I began to walk to the front of the school.

Life was good until I tensed up "Yo newbie! What did we say? You don't belong here kid!" yelled those kids from the other day.

I gulped a huge lump and didn't even turn around to face them. I ran.

I knew they were on my tail because their foot steps echoed the empty hallways as did mine.

But being the weak nerd I am, I found myself pinned to a locker again. I tensed. Closing my eyes tightly and turning my head away from them
