I Understand Now

Now I understand why Peter Pan
Didn't want us to grow up.

I understand why he wanted
To save those children.

For once you grow up
You can never go back.

And you are stuck with
The pressure to be perfect.

Because society wants you to be
Something you can never be.

And when you grow up those
Wants become worse and worse.

So much to the point where
You feel yourself slowly falling apart inside.

Now I understand why Peter Pan
Didn't want us to grow up.

Because growing up is a trap
That we all fall into.

And it makes you believe
That there is no escape.
